Texas Dog Covered In Scabs And Purple Substance Has No Idea He’s About To ‘Get The Good Life’
Violet wasn’t just any stray. She was a survivor.
Found wandering the streets of Houston alone, with no one to care for her, she had already faced more challenges than most dogs ever will.

The shelter that took her in didn’t know her full story, but they could see something special: despite everything, Violet still had the spark of life, ready to embrace a future full of love and second chances.
When Brianna Magana shared Violet’s story on TikTok, she had one simple yet powerful message for her: “Welcome to the good life.”

Brianna first heard about Violet when the shelter shared her story on their Facebook page. They called out for a foster, revealing just how dire Violet’s condition was in a heartbreaking post:
“She weighs 8 pounds and her whole body is covered in scabs from both demodex and sarcoptic mange. She’s also covered in a purple substance, likely a livestock spray that someone somewhere applied in an attempt to soothe her painful skin.”

Brianna immediately felt a pull to help and knew she couldn’t turn her back on this poor pup. But Violet first needed to be hospitalized before she could be picked up.
When Brianna finally got to meet her, the sight was devastating. The dog had been treated more like a farm animal than a beloved pet. But Brianna was determined to change that.

Now, under Brianna’s care, Violet has started to heal. She’s been placed on a strict feeding routine and given the medication she needs to get her strength back.
Along with food, she also receives specially medicated baths to treat her skin and help speed up her healing process. Slowly but surely, Violet starts to feel better.

But more than anything, she is finally getting something she never had before: love and attention. Brianna’s home is cozy and warm, and Violet is soaking it all in.
Every moment she spends with Brianna is full of care. She can finally feel safe and loved.

To make Violet feel even more special, Brianna got her a cute pajamas to keep her warm while her coat grows back. Her purple coat is slowly fading away, as the shelter shared in an update post:
“She’s now a loved girl who wears pajamas that match her foster momma and she enjoys cuddles in bed. She’s still getting baths to help her skin heal and she’s almost purple-free!”

Violet’s not just being treated for her health; she’s being treated like a true companion. And you can see it in how she’s opening up more and more.
She’s starting to trust her foster mom, and it’s so sweet to watch. Soon, that purple coat will be completely gone, and Violet will be a whole new pup, inside and out.

Brianna has big plans for Violet’s future. She’ll stay in foster care until she’s ready to find her forever family.
And her perfect match? A loving family that’s ready to spoil her with cuddles and care. She’s friendly with kids and other dogs, and she’s a quiet little thing, hardly ever barking.
Violet has already come so far, and she’s on the path to living the life she always deserved.
