Woman Heard Odd Sounds From Bushes At Missouri College And The Next Moment Was Unforgettable
While her daughter was off playing at a lacrosse tournament on a Missouri college campus, one mom took a quiet walk to pass the time and enjoy the surroundings. But her peaceful stroll didn’t last long.
A faint, desperate squeak suddenly cut through the air and stopped her in her tracks. It was soft, but urgent, like something small was calling out for help.
She instinctively pulled out her phone, unsure what she was about to find, and started recording as curiosity took over.
Step by step, she followed the sound toward the bushes, not realizing she was moments away from discovering a tiny life desperately trying to be heard.

After following the sounds for a while, she found a feisty little orange kitten hiding in a bush.
Even though the kitten was crying for help, she got scared when she saw the woman and tried to escape. In the video, we can hear the woman saying:
“You’re awfully loud. Do you want to come here? Do you want to be rescued?”
The little kitten wasn’t so quick to trust. When the woman first tried talking to her, there was no reaction at all. That’s when she came up with a simple but smart plan.
She pulled out a cookie and sat nearby, hoping her presence would feel less threatening. Each time she reached out, the kitten would scurry off, keeping her distance.

But patience paid off. After nearly 45 minutes, the tiny feline finally gathered the courage to inch closer.
Once the kitten felt safe enough, the woman and her daughter went to Walmart to pick up some food and a pet carrier for their new little buddy.
But, the kitten was not thrilled about the carrier and kept doing what she did best: making a lot of noise, as the woman mentioned:
“She’s very needy.”

This compassionate woman and her family had already been fostering cats with St. Louis Pet Rescue for several years, so when she came across the tiny kitten, leaving her behind was never an option.
She brought the little one home, gave her the name Mimosa, and introduced her to the rest of her cats.
Where Mimosa came from or how she ended up wandering the college campus remains a mystery, but thankfully, her persistent cries made sure she was noticed and saved.

Today, Mimosa is thriving in a warm and nurturing foster home, where she’s finally able to relax and enjoy the care she deserves.
With the support of St. Louis Pet Rescue and the kindness of the woman who refused to walk away, this once-lost kitten now has a real shot at a bright future.
It won’t be long before a permanent family comes along to give her a forever home. Stories like Mimosa’s remind us that even the smallest cries for help can lead to a life filled with love and second chances.
