Indiana Woman Watches Livestream And Can’t Believe What Her Pup Is Doing While She’s Gone
Ever wonder what your dog gets up to once you leave the house?
Some turn into little detectives at the window. Others invent chaos out of thin air just to stay entertained. But Chimney, a sweet rescue pup from Indiana, has figured out something far more peaceful.
His daily routine is almost impressive in its simplicity: a big stretch, a slow flop onto the softest spot he can find, and then straight into a deep nap like it’s his full-time job.
Every now and then, he’ll shift positions, roll over, and settle in again like he’s optimizing the comfort level. No drama, no mischief… just pure commitment to rest.

Every day, while his humans are at their jobs, Chimney clocks in for his favorite shift: snoozing on the couch.
His mom, Elena, checks the pet cam now and then, just to see what her boy’s up to. And every single time, there he is: curled up like a cinnamon roll or stretched out like a fluffy rug, deep in dreamland.
He might occasionally wake up, chew a toy, then get right back to “work.” Elena shared in an interview:
“Sometimes he will chew a bone or a toy for an hour, but other than that, he switches positions a few times, but really naps almost the whole time we’re gone.”
Let’s just say, Chimney’s got his priorities straight.

But life wasn’t always this easy for him. Before finding his forever home, Chimney’s story was heartbreakingly different.
He was once found stranded on the roof of an abandoned house in the middle of winter, cold, scared, and completely alone.
An officer from Gary Animal Control rescued him, but his future still looked uncertain.
For three long months, he stayed in an outdoor kennel, waiting for someone to give him a chance before time ran out.

That’s when Elena came across his photo online. She already fostered dogs, but something about Chimney’s face stopped her in her tracks.
He reminded her of her old dog Abe, who had recently passed away. So, she brought him home, just planning to foster him for a while.
But you know how these stories go. Within weeks, Chimney had stolen her heart and earned a forever spot in her home, as she shared:
“He looked similar to our sweet old dog, Abe, who passed away a month before we started fostering Chimney. He helped heal our hearts after losing Abe, and we officially adopted him in June, so he will be with us forever.”

At first, Chimney didn’t handle being left alone very well. He’d cry and pace for almost an hour after Elena left.
But that changed once they started fostering other dogs. Suddenly, Chimney wasn’t lonely anymore. He had friends, and his world opened up again.
Now, instead of howling when they leave, he naps peacefully, probably dreaming about treats and beach trips. Elena said:
“He would howl for almost an hour after we left, and it made us feel so bad. Now that we foster other dogs, he is not alone, and he doesn’t get upset when we leave. I absolutely love looking at the camera now and seeing him sleeping peacefully rather than pacing or howling.”

After such a tough start, this boy is living his best life with his forever family now. He gets to go camping, visit the lake house, and enjoy his beloved pup cups.
His story has even gone viral on TikTok, where people can’t stop laughing (and relating) to his epic nap schedule. One person joked that it’s “a full-time job keeping the couch warm,” sharing:
“It’s a full-time freakin’ job to make sure that the sofa stays warm all day. Please respect the hustle.”
And honestly? They’re not wrong. This hardworking dog has earned every minute of his rest. Watch Chimney’s favorite poses in this video.
