She stepped out into the freezing morning air, scanning the roadside. There, in the dim light, was a tiny, vulnerable kitten.

"He’s so little," she said, her heart breaking for the stray. "You cannot be by yourself."

Despite knowing she had to get to work, she was absolutely determined not to abandon the baby animal in the cold.

"How do I catch this cat?" she asked herself. "I can’t leave without him."

The chase was officially on. The kitten was terrified and surprisingly fast, darting away from his would-be savior every time she got close.

At one point, the tiny feline was hopping along the ground so frantically that she had to ask, "Okay, why are you running like a bunny?"

Finally, the panicked kitten made a mistake and got himself stuck in a small, enclosed space by the road.

Seizing the opportunity, the woman reached in and scooped him up safely. "Got you," she whispered. "Yeah, you’re coming home with me."

The transition wasn’t instantly easy for the rescued kitten. He had been through a terrifying ordeal and was understandably on edge.

He was very scared at first, even letting out a tiny hiss at the people trying to help him.

The rescue team knew he just needed time, patience, and a quiet foster home to decompress from his life on the streets.
