After 15 Months Of Longing For A Home, Shelter Cat Finally Gets Her Wish Fulfilled

Sharing is caring!

Some shelter cats spend their entire lives in shelters, waiting for their fortune to turn around. However, this mother kitty finally got lucky after nearly a year.

Keko, a beautiful calico cat, arrived at a local shelter with her babies, where the staff immediately provided them with a comfortable nursery.

There, she lovingly raised her kittens with a lot of love and care, and of course, with the shelter’s help.

The shelter staff hoped the whole family would find their loving homes, but sadly, the odds weren’t on Keko’s side.

When Keko’s kittens were old enough, they were instantly adopted by lovely families. However, sweet Keko, despite being sweet and affectionate, remained at the shelter waiting for her happy ending. The shelter explained in an interview:

“The mother cats have to wait for weeks as they tend to their kittens, caring for them, teaching them. They wait as, one by one, each squirmy bundle of cuteness is adopted.”

After all of her babies went off to loving homes, Keko joined other shelter cats in a large room, where she patiently waited for her new chance at life.

Sadly, days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, with no one showing interest in adopting Keko.

At one point, she even held the record for the cat who had spent the longest time at the shelter.

No one could understand how such a lovely feline was so overlooked, yet Keko remained patient and enjoyed all the attention she received from visitors.

After almost a year, however, their happiness didn’t last long. Keko was adopted by a family,

Despite being charmed by her loving personality, they had to return her to the shelter because their resident cat constantly rejected her. The shelter explained:

“Keko thought she had found her forever home. Unfortunately, she was returned due to the other cat in the house picking on her.”

The saddest part was that Keko had grown very affectionate towards her new family, during her brief stay.

She was returned to the same shelter with the same hope of finding her forever home soon. Luckily, this time she didn’t have to wait for too long.

A few weeks later, a family who had previously adopted from the shelter saw Keko and instantly fell in love with her. Determined to give her a happy life, they decided to take her home.

After a year of waiting for her forever family, Keko was finally where she was always meant to be.

She instantly settled in her new home and formed a special bond with the family’s young son, determined to protect him with her life. Her new family lovingly shared:

“Keko, now Ruby, has been sleeping with my son every night since she’s been with us. She walked in as if she had been there forever. She’s winning over everyone’s heart.”

Not only did Ruby bond with her new family, but she also got a new feline brother named Milo, with whom she gets along perfectly. Ruby’s family said:

“We are so blessed to have the opportunity to give these beautiful cats the life they deserve.”

Now, Ruby is finally living the happy life with the family who loves her endlessly. She truly got her happily ever after, just as she always deserved.
