Cat’s Emotional Reaction To Mufasa Scene In The Lion King Will Have You Reaching For Tissues

Sharing is caring!

My favorite way to unwind is undoubtedly lounging on the couch with my cats, watching a great movie.

I truly believe they enjoy it too! We settle in, cuddle up, and snack – it’s the best time ever!

While it’s usually just me who’s focused on the film, every so often the plot captures the attention of my furry friends.

If you have pets, you might have noticed the same, leading to an inevitable conclusion: It’s not only humans who enjoy screen time – our pets do too!

To support this, I want to share a video of Saga, a highly emotionally intelligent cat, that recently brought me to tears.

Just a couple of days ago, while scrolling through YouTube, I came across a heartwarming video that seriously tugged at my heartstrings.

It captured Saga watching The Lion King – specifically her reaction to one of the most emotional scenes in cinematic history: the passing of Mufasa.

I think we can all agree that was our first collective heartbreak!

As Mufasa struggles to climb a cliff, desperately seeking safety after rescuing Simba from a wildebeest stampede, his brother Scar betrays him, letting him fall to his demise.

Simba’s cries for his father are heart-wrenching. He finds Mufasa lying motionless and, unable to wake him, curls up beside him, overwhelmed with grief.

Saga was engrossed, her little furry head tracking every movement on the screen.

At the climax, as Mufasa falls and Simba’s wails fill the room, she leaps from the couch to the TV stand.

Standing on her hind legs, she paws at the screen, as if trying to save Simba’s father herself.

The emotional video garnered over 22 million views on YouTube, leaving people worldwide tearful for Mufasa, Simba, and of course, Saga!

In the video description, Saga’s owner reflects on her response to the film, noting it demonstrates a level of understanding and empathy rarely observed in animals. They wrote:

“It’s not just a cat watching a movie; it’s an exploration of the emotional bond that transcends species.”

Enough of my ramblings! It’s time you see the video for yourself. I hope it moves you as much as it did me.

Consider this a friendly tip: put on The Lion King, invite your feline friend(s), and yes, keep some tissues handy – trust me, you’ll need them!
