Family Shocked As Security Camera Catches Wild Baby Animal ‘Entangled’ In Mysterious Object
One seemingly ordinary day, a family was relaxing at home when suddenly, the father startled everyone.
He had just spotted something strange on their home security camera and quickly alerted the rest of the family to the unusual sight in their backyard.
Among the flowers and garden decorations, there was a young fox with a strange green material hanging around its neck and body.
Although foxes weren’t an uncommon sight in the area, the family was still worried about their safety as well as the safety of the fox cub in their yard.
They decided to contact the Wildlife Aid Foundation (WAF), a rescue, rehabilitation, and release center, to inform them about the wild fox.
Upon seeing the photos of the fox, the WAF team quickly recognized the green material as plastic sports netting, which, unfortunately, is a common hazard for foxes.
In a Facebook post, they explained:
“Dispersal season poses some of the biggest threats to young wildlife, as they explore unknown territory, scope out new homes, and come across all the hazards today’s world brings. This juvenile fox probably didn’t envisage becoming entangled in plastic netting when he began his innocent search for a place to call home.”
One of WAF’s dedicated team members, Mike, quickly headed to the family’s home to search for the likely frightened fox cub.
The elusive fox managed to avoid Mike for a while, but eventually, he wandered into the trap Mike had carefully set up in the family’s backyard.
Without wasting any time, Mike rushed the poor fox to WAF’s animal hospital, where a team of skilled veterinarians took immediate care of him.
The fox underwent an emergency procedure to remove the green plastic net, and thankfully, the entire procedure was a success.
As they shared on their Facebook page:
“The youngster was brought into the hospital, where the remaining netting was removed. Due to the tight hold the netting had around the fox’s neck, he remains with us, as we ensure no late-developing ligature wounds show up.”
The dedicated WAF team took exceptional care of the adorable fox cub, showering him with love and ensuring he had everything he needed to recover and thrive.
After a few days of rest at the WAF headquarters, the fox underwent a thorough health check – and he passed with flying colors!
In no time, this sweet youngster was released back into the wild, where he truly belonged.
Thanks to the swift response of the skilled WAF team, this fox cub was saved just in time. However, these kinds of cases are more common than anyone would like to admit.
As the fox population continues to grow, WAF took to their Facebook page to urge the public to follow some simple yet crucial steps to prevent future injuries and help this precious wildlife thrive.
They wrote:
With us and so many of our wildlife center counterparts reporting admissions like this, we can’t stress enough how easily avoidable they are. Through disposing of waste properly, lifting up sports netting, and being considerate of our wild neighbors, you can save lives. Please pledge, today, to do one thing a day to help save our wildlife!”
