Girl Spots Shivering Stray Dog In The Rain, But What She Does Next Is Pure Kindness

On a rainy and gloomy day, a woman named Mayane looked out her apartment window and saw something so beautiful that it felt like a scene from a fairy tale. 

Below her, a young girl was walking home from school on the wet sidewalk. What happened next was so surprising and kind that it made Mayane stop and stare. 

The girl, named Cibely, put down her umbrella, took off her backpack, and then, shockingly, took off her jacket. 

On a cold, rainy day, most people want to stay warm and not take off their clothes! So, what was she doing? 

Then, it became clear why Cibely was acting so strangely. At her feet was a soaking wet puppy, shivering and alone in the rain. 

In that moment, Mayane realized that Cibely wasn’t just taking off her jacket; she was giving it to the little puppy. 

What happened next was even more heartwarming: Mayane saw the girl gently pick up the wet puppy and wrap it in her jacket, continuing home with her new furry friend. To Mayane, this selfless act made Cibely seem like an angel. As she shared in an interview:

“It all happened so quickly. It was very emotional. I sent the video to a friend who, shared it to a neighborhood group, and then I found out who the angel was.”

Thanks to the interconnectedness of the community, Cibely’s identity was soon revealed. 

At just 13 years old, she showed more kindness and understanding than many adults. That day, without thinking twice, Cibely saved a puppy’s life. 

When she got home, her mom, Rejane, was shocked to see her daughter arrive with a wet and slightly bloody puppy. She mentioned:

“I was startled when she arrived with the puppy because she was very sweaty and wet from the rain. I thought she had been hurt, but she told me she found the puppy injured.”

Luckily, the puppy’s injuries weren’t too serious. It was just a little scratch and a lot of cold, wet fear – nothing that some love and care couldn’t fix. 

When Cibely saw the puppy all alone on the sidewalk, her caring heart knew she had to help. There was no second-guessing; she just followed her instinct to save the puppy. Her mom added:

“Cibely has a very good heart. She feels very sorry for stray dogs. If she could bring them all home, she would.”

Meanwhile, the little dog, whom Cibely named Pretinha, has been welcomed into the family’s home with open arms. 

Just think about how cozy and safe Pretinha must feel now, moving from the cold sidewalk to a warm home. Well, isn’t this the happy ending that every stray animal deserves?! 

While no one really knows how Pretinha ended up hurt and alone on that dreary day. Maybe she got lost or was left behind – it’s still sad to think about. 

But one thing is for sure: thanks to the quick and caring actions of a 13-year-old girl, Pretinha’s life has changed for the better. 

She went from being a lonely stray to a beloved part of a family, all because of Cibely’s kindness. And for Cibely’s parents? They’re incredibly proud of her. As they shared:

“As parents, we are proud of Cibely and always have been. But now we’re even more so!”

And they have every reason to be!
