Colorado Woman Wakes Up To Loud Banging At 4 A.M. And Comes Face To Face With This Wild Visitor

Amy had no clue that her peaceful evening at home near the Colorado foothills was about to turn into something scary.

She wasn’t doing anything special, just winding down. Her cat, Meatball, was still outside doing his usual nighttime exploring.

Since he liked to come and go on his own time, Amy left the back door unlatched like she’d done plenty of times before. No big deal… or so she thought.

Meatball eventually came strolling back in. But someone else followed. And this new visitor? Definitely not invited.

Around 4 a.m., loud banging and crashing jolted Amy out of her sleep. Her heart skipped a beat as she jumped out of bed, trying to make sense of the noise.

Still half-asleep, she hurried toward the living room. But the scene waiting for her was something she never could’ve imagined.

There, perched on a shelf sat a bobcat. Yep. A full-grown, wild bobcat.

His big golden eyes stared right at her, and he looked completely at ease.

He didn’t seem the least bit concerned that he’d broken into someone’s house. To him, it probably just felt like another warm spot to rest.

To Amy, it felt like a nightmare.

She wasted no time calling for help. Within minutes, two deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrived.

They probably weren’t expecting a wild feline either, but they were ready to try anything.

With no special gear on hand and definitely no “wild bobcat” protocol in their manual, the deputies had to get creative.

So they turned to a tool that every cat lover swears by: a laser pointer.

Yep, they actually pulled out a pair of those tiny gadgets and gave it a go. Because honestly, a cat’s a cat… right?

They aimed the little dot and flicked it around the floor and walls, expecting the bobcat to chase it like any other curious feline, as one of them shared in the video:

“Cats are all the same. They all like the same thing.”

The deputies gave it their best shot, waiting for a reaction. But this bobcat? Oh no.

He was not your average house kitty. He barely blinked at the little light, let alone chased it.

His eyes followed it for maybe a second before he blinked slowly and looked away like he was way too cool for that nonsense.

It was clear that this wild guy had zero interest in silly games.

So, the deputies called in Colorado Parks and Wildlife for backup. Their advice was to leave the back door open and give the bobcat space to leave on his own.

And sure enough, after four long hours, the wild guest slipped out into the early morning. No drama. No noise. Just gone.

Meatball was perfectly fine. As for Amy… well, she’s probably rethinking her open-door policy. From now on, if Meatball decides to stay out, he might just have to knock.

Because once you’ve had a bobcat lounging on your shelf at 4 a.m., that door doesn’t stay open for anyone.
