Woman Hears Screaming From Vending Machine In Tennessee And Ends Up Saving A Precious Life

Lindsey Russel was taking a lunch break in her car in Morristown, Tennessee, when a strange sound caught her attention.
It was soft and high-pitched, like a little scream, a tiny cry for help. The sound tugged at her, something about it felt urgent… and sad.
Her curiosity got the best of her, so she followed the sound and traced it to a Pepsi vending machine in the lobby. And what she saw stopped her in her tracks.

Inside the machine was a little kitten, barely visible through the dark interior and metal framework.
The poor thing had somehow gotten trapped and was stuck in that hot, cramped space with no way out.
Lindsey didn’t hesitate. She immediately started working on getting the kitten out. She used every minute of her break trying to help, even calling over some coworkers to join in.

But no matter what they tried, the kitten remained stuck. It was clear they needed professional help.
So Lindsey did the next best thing; she called in the experts. The Morristown Fire Department quickly arrived, and once they approached the machine, they too heard the faint cries.
The kitten was still meowing, steady and soft. She hadn’t given up

The firefighters quickly got to work, removing panels and looking for the safest way to reach her. After about ten careful minutes, they managed to free the little one.
She was tiny, barely a pound, and so fragile she could nearly fit in the palm of a hand. But she was alive.
And that moment, when they pulled her out and knew she’d be okay, was everything.

Lindsey didn’t hesitate to bring her home. The moment she held the kitten close, it just felt like the right thing to do.
This wasn’t her first time helping animals either. She and her mom have rescued several over the years.
In fact, Lindsey once saved another kitten from a grocery store. Somehow, these little ones always seem to find her.

At home, the kitten made herself known. She was already full of energy, wiggling and squirming her way into everyone’s hearts.
Naturally, people started calling her “Pepsi,” though Lindsey’s still trying to find the perfect name. With a rescue story this unique, it’s got to be something special.
She’s already been checked out by a vet, too. Thankfully, she’s healthy, though the team was a bit concerned at first about dehydration and overheating. The vet gave her fluids just to be safe, and now she’s bouncing back quickly.
Tiny but tough, Pepsi survived thanks to Lindsey’s quick action and kind heart.
