Milwaukee Woman Discovers Cat With Crumpled Ears And Makes A Life-Changing Decision
As the population of stray cats continues to rise, some are lucky enough to be rescued by kind-hearted individuals like Emilie Rackovan.
Emilie is the founder of Thrifted Kitten Rescue, where she dedicates herself to helping cats and kittens in distress.
One day, while driving home, Emilie spotted a special sight outside an auto shop.
There, she found a sweet orange kitten with crumpled ears, clearly in need of assistance. Seeing him alone, Emilie knew she couldn’t just drive past.

“He had to have a decent number of teeth pulled. (Now free from pain), his personality has truly blossomed. After several weeks of getting to know each other, he leaned into pets for the very first time. He has turned into such a love bug.”
It didn’t take long before Leo was fully healed, and his once-dull eyes started to sparkle with life.
He began to explore his new space and took an interest in the people caring for him. Emilie was thrilled by his transformation and couldn’t hold back her joy.
She shared:
“For the first few weeks that I had him, I wasn’t sure if he’d ever warm up to people, but then everything changed, and he became the sweetest, most loving boy. His favorite thing was to get lots of chin scratches.”
Leo’s transformation was nothing short of remarkable.
From a nervous, unhealthy cat, he blossomed into a vibrant and affectionate feline who couldn’t resist soaking up love with every gentle touch.
Once Leo had fully recovered, the final step was finding him a forever home. Sadly, weeks went by with no applications.
But as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and for Leo, that moment finally arrived. Emilie reflected:
“Sometimes, that’s just fate at work. Leo finally received a wonderful application, and they fell in love with him at the meet-and-greet.”
Before long, Leo, now renamed Teddy, was settling into his forever home with a loving family, embracing his new life with open paws.
