Overlooked And Abandoned, These Special Needs Cats Are Now Living The Life They Deserve

Not every cat gets the luxury of a loving home, but one compassionate woman proved that the special-needs cats often overlooked can live their best lives.

Meet Monty and Molly – two adorable felines with truly unique faces and personalities, thanks to their rare chromosomal conditions.

How Monty Found His Forever Home

Monty’s distinct appearance is the result of a chromosomal abnormality that left him without a nasal bridge.

Unfortunately, this made him harder to adopt, and he spent a lot of time waiting at the shelter.

That was until Fenjah Mogensen came across Monty’s photo online. Without hesitation, she knew she had to adopt him.

Under Fenjah’s care, Monty didn’t just survive; he thrived and quickly became an internet sensation, sharing his journey with fans who were captivated by his quirky looks and lovable nature.

Fenjah updated fans with regular posts showing off Monty’s adventures, health, and personality, and it wasn’t long before people were drawn to his sweet, unique character.

Little did she know, her story with Monty was far from over.

How Molly Became Part Of The Family

Just when Fenjah thought she couldn’t be more amazed by Monty, fate had another plan.

She was tagged in a post about a rescue kitten named Molly, and much to her surprise, Molly shared the same chromosomal abnormality as Monty.

Molly’s face looked just like Monty’s, and it was clear she had found her place in the family.

The two became inseparable, with Molly following Monty everywhere and forming a bond that was heartwarming to watch.

Monty & Molly – Two Incredible Cats

In addition to their unique looks, Monty faces several health challenges, including diabetes, deafness, and epilepsy.

Fenjah is incredibly dedicated to their care, taking daily measurements of Monty’s blood sugar and giving him medication for his epilepsy. She shares on Monty’s  Instagram:

“I’m often asked how life with Monty is because he has so many diagnoses, so let me describe my day with Monty and his issues. Monty has epilepsy, diabetes, he is deaf, he pees in his sleep (and he had asthma when he was younger).”

Because Monty is also deaf, Fenjah can’t use sound to signal him when it’s mealtime.

Instead, she simply serves his breakfast around 4 or 5 a.m., a routine Monty became accustomed to.

Monty also requires epilepsy medication twice daily, which has helped him stay seizure-free for the past five years.

Fenjah is handling his needs with great care and patience. Monty’s condition means he pees in his sleep, but Fenjah doesn’t mind the extra work – she just washes his blankets more often than most people.

She adds:

“Monty being deaf means that he meows very loudly and since he’s a big talker he’s only quiet when he’s sleeping. Life with Monty is amazing, and I love my boy to the moon and back, but I must admit that I’m often tired.”

Molly also faces her own health challenges, dealing with tissue and muscle issues in her legs.

Fenjah works hard to make sure both cats get the care they need and encourages others to consider adopting special needs pets.

Despite their medical conditions, Monty and Molly are wonderful pets. They’re playful, affectionate, and intelligent.

Molly enjoys outdoor adventures, leash walks, and sunny backpack rides, while Monty prefers staying cozy indoors.

Their heartwarming journey is proof that special needs pets can bring immense joy to their families.

Thanks to the internet and Fenjah’s unwavering care, Monty and Molly are thriving in the best possible way.
