Newborn Kitten Abandoned On California Streets Gets Rescued Moments Before It’s Too Late
Say hello to Clove, a stunning little gray kitten who came to Baby Kitten Rescue in Los Angeles, California, at only 10 days old.
She was in urgent need of care, but thankfully, she was discovered just in time to be saved.
Caroline Grace, the founder of Baby Kitten Rescue, shared in an interview:
“She was found on a Thursday night all alone. The finders waited for the cat mama, but sadly, she never returned.”
Clove’s condition was extremely serious. Her tiny body was crawling with fleas, she had a large scab beneath her right armpit, and she was fighting a dangerous infection.
Caroline, determined to give her a chance, brought Clove into her care and immediately started an intensive treatment plan to help her heal. She said:
“Clove was severely dehydrated and crying nonstop in pain from her stomach problems.”
After receiving antibiotics, fluids, and a mix of supportive supplements, Clove began to perk up within hours.
Once her strength returned, she wrapped her little paws around her caregiver’s hand and purred nonstop.
Even at such a young age, Clove revealed herself to be a snuggly purr machine with an extraordinary determination to survive.
After Ana, a volunteer of the rescue, met Clove, she immediately decided to take over treating Clove and round-the-clock feedings. Ana said:
“Within a week, Clove was latching and eating like a champ and blossoming into the silly, spunky, loving girl that she is.”
Despite everything she had been through, Clove felt comfortable around her rescuers and enjoyed all the attention she received. She added:
“She had the loudest, most active purr motor as she snuggled and rolled around happy and full after each feeding.”
A little later, Ana welcomed Clove into her own home to keep up with the demanding feeding routine.
With the support of kind-hearted people and the steady love and care she received, Clove made a full recovery.
As her health improved, her bright and playful personality finally started to shine through.
Caroline said:
“She was so loved and adored (by everyone she came across), and it was obvious how safe and happy she felt. Ana continued bottle feeding her until, one day, Clove discovered dry food and decided she loved it!”
Caroline added:
“Clove is a playful, silly, curious, and sweet little purr monster. Despite her rough condition when she arrived, she has become a brave, adventurous, and loving kitten.”
When Clove was 10 weeks old, she was finally healthy, happy, and ready for a forever home. Caroline said:
“We found her the perfect home. When her new mom met her for the first time, it was true and immediate love – they had an instant connection.”
Clove’s story wrapped up in the best way possible. Before heading off to her forever home, she was spayed, ensuring she could enjoy a safe, carefree life ahead.
It’s heartwarming to know that this tiny purr machine is now thriving in her forever home, filling each day with her steady, rumbling purrs.
