Texas Resident Stunned After Finding Plastic Bin In Her Yard With Heartbreaking Sight Inside

It was a relaxing Saturday afternoon for Marty McAdams from Houston, Texas. His golden retriever, Cammie, was sprawled out nearby, soaking up the sunshine.
But then his phone rang with a call that instantly changed everything.
His neighbor sounded frantic, telling him to come outside and get a puppy out of her yard. Marty looked at Cammie, who barely lifted her head.
He didn’t understand. What puppy? As he walked over, the answer became heartbreakingly clear.

There, sitting in a plastic bin tucked behind the fence, was a tiny 4-week-old pup. She was trembling and had a swollen, injured paw.
Supplies were scattered around her, but it was obvious this little girl had been abandoned. Marty’s heart sank.
He immediately asked around on Facebook to see if anyone was missing a puppy, but no one claimed her.
It became clear she had been dumped in the yard, left to fend for herself.

Marty could hardly believe it. How could someone just leave such a tiny, helpless creature behind? He shared in an interview:
“[It’s] a fenced backyard with a low gate to it. They just reached over and put her there, you know, and left her there.”
By evening, the local rescue, ThisIsHouston, had arranged a foster home for the little pup, now nicknamed Pebbles.
But the foster couldn’t come until the next day, so Pebbles was staying with Marty overnight.

Marty had raised dogs for years, including Cammie, who had been rescued from a puppy mill just months earlier. He knew the importance of love and patience for a pup with a rough start.
Sensing safety for the first time, Pebbles refused to leave Marty’s side. She cried softly, following him from couch to couch, never letting him out of her sight.
Marty held her for hours. He placed her on his lap, letting her know she was finally safe, as he shared:
“I probably sat on the couch and held her for four hours, off and on. She just didn’t want to be left alone. She just cried and cried.”

Even when he made her a cozy bed, she cried until she was allowed to snuggle up next to Cammie, who, after a few protests, let her share the giant plush bed.
By the next morning, Pebbles’ little eyes brightened, and she tentatively explored the yard. She and Cammie quickly found their groove, with Cammie keeping a careful eye on the little newbie.
Soon, it was time for Pebbles to head to her foster home, a vet tech who could help treat her paw and guide her through recovery.
Pebbles met a temporary sibling and began playing. Her confidence was slowly growing with each passing day.

Now seven weeks old, Pebbles is thriving. Her paw is healing, and the swelling is gone. ThisIsHouston shared:
“Pebbles is doing great now! We aren’t sure what happened to her paw, but with meds, the swelling has gone down, and we’re just waiting for hair to grow back.”
Marty and Cammie played a crucial role in showing her trust, comfort, and warmth.
Soon, Pebbles will find her forever home, a place where she’ll never be alone again and where she can snuggle, play, and grow into the happy pup she was always meant to be.
