After Days Without Their Mom, These Arizona Kittens Stuck Together And Survived Against All Odds
I truly believe that cats experience deep emotions that not only allow them to form strong bonds but also give them the resilience to survive.
This is exactly what helped two abandoned kittens make it through their tough start in life.
Buddha, the ginger kitten, and Bonsai, the tortie, were left alone outside for days with no sign of their mother.
Despite being all alone, they managed to survive by relying on each other until help arrived.
Their story reminds me of two foster kittens I cared for, Mojo and Milo. They were inseparable, just like Buddha and Bonsai, and their bond was incredibly strong.
After being adopted, their new family shared that they still can’t be apart.
Just like Mojo and Milo, Buddha and Bonsai wouldn’t let go of each other. Even after being rescued, the two kittens remained tightly bonded.
When they were found in Phoenix, Arizona, Buddha and Bonsai were malnourished and injured, with no sign of their mother. They had been left outside for days.
The people who discovered them couldn’t leave them behind.
Concerned for their well-being, they contacted Melinda Blain, co-founder of Bottle Baby Fosters, to help save the abandoned kittens.
Thanks to Melinda, the kittens were rescued immediately. She said:
“The tortie girl was only 85 grams, while her brother was 120 grams. She was the weight of an underweight newborn at five days old.”
Given the state they were in, it was clear that Buddha and Bonsai had kept each other alive in those final hours. Their rescue came just in time.
Once they were safe and provided with proper care and nourishment, their improvement was evident.
After just one day of rest and a healthy diet, Bonsai gained 15 grams, despite serious leg injuries.
During her treatment, she loved belly rubs and would purr loudly in response, which showed how much she appreciated the care. Melinda said:
“She is a great little fighter and has the loudest purr.”
Buddha also showed quick improvement. His determination to take care of his little sister kept him strong.
With all the attention and love they received, Buddha and Bonsai began to feel more secure and cared for. Melinda shared:
“They purred the minute I picked them up. They just seemed to know that they were so loved.”
The bond between these two was so strong that they would cry when separated, always eager to be reunited. Isn’t that just amazing?
They did everything together, and their new family made sure to keep them close and shower them with all the love and care they needed.
It warms my heart to hear such wonderful news. Whoever adopted these precious kittens is truly lucky.
