Passerby Near California Metro Station Sees A Still Figure On A Tarp And Makes A Shocking Find

At a bustling metro station in California, a passerby spotted something unusual on the stairs: a tarp with a strange, hairless creature curled atop it.
As they approached, it became clear the animal was a dog, her wrinkled skin revealing pain and neglect. She didn’t react to the person approaching—accustomed to being overlooked—but this time, someone was determined to help.

The kind stranger contacted longtime rescuer Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 in Irvine, California, asking if she could assist the dog. Hall and her team quickly made a plan to rescue the pup, soon naming her Sadie Rose.

Volunteer Arturo Flores, closest to the metro, rushed to the scene. Arriving near sunset, he tried to capture Sadie Rose, but she bolted toward the drive-thru of a nearby fast-food restaurant. Despite his efforts, she vanished into the evening.
The next morning, Hall returned to continue the search but found the pup missing again. Eventually, she spotted Sadie Rose, moving slowly and exhausted as she dragged her paws along the pavement.

Hall carefully set up multiple humane traps, taking care not to startle her, and waited in her car, hoping the smell of treats would lure Sadie Rose closer.
The wary pup came near the traps several times, but passersby repeatedly frightened her, sending her running across the street and dangerously close to traffic. Hall shared her worry on Facebook:
“Each time she would almost go into my trap, a person would show up and scare her away. And then she would go cross the street, so many times, almost getting hit by a car.”

After disappearing again, Hall refused to give up. She drove through the neighborhood for hours, determined not to leave the dog outside another night.
Finally, she checked Sadie Rose’s second favorite hiding spot at the fast-food restaurant and spotted her slowly moving into a yard, clearly weakening.
Hall quickly parked, blocked off the yard with baby gates, and with the homeowner’s help, they cornered Sadie Rose and guided her safely into the trap.

Once inside the crate, the pup seemed at ease, as if sensing her long struggle on the streets was finally over.
Hall rushed her to the vet, where Sadie Rose was diagnosed with mange and began treatment immediately.

She was kept isolated while receiving care, but her caretakers showered her with love as she healed.
Over time, her gentle, affectionate personality began to shine. Hall reflected:
“She is absolutely beautiful and the most lovable girl I have ever met. She matters so much, and I won’t give up [on] her.”

After more than a month of intensive care, Sadie Rose moved into a foster home with Karen de Grandmaison, where she enjoys affection, sun-filled naps, and cozy spots.
Once her fur fully grows back, she will be ready to find a forever home. Until then, she is thriving in foster care, safe, and cherished for the first time in her life.
