Frightened and alone in the busy streets of Seattle, 6 weeks old Simba was waiting for someone to rescue him.
Simba, an adorable Bengal kitten was abandoned in a cardboard box in the middle of one of the busiest streets in Seattle.
Kind people noticed him and informed the Tacoma Humane Society, who immediately came to help the little guy out.
Once they brought little Simba to their shelter, they quickly realized why the poor thing was abandoned in the first place.
Most probably he was thrown out by his breeder, who figured he wouldn’t earn anything from selling Simba.
The poor thing was suffering from a very rare condition called Bilateral perineal hernia, which meant Simba couldn’t defecate on his own.
Luckily, working closely with the shelter, Cindy specialized in special needs cats and kittens. Without a minute’s hesitation, she decided to foster little Simba and embark on his recovery journey together.
However, Simba’s condition was so severe that he needed urgent surgery. With the help of kind people, Cindy managed to raise donations and Simba was able to get his life-saving surgery.
After the surgery, Simba’s skin became so red and irritated that it caused him visible discomfort. Despite all that, he was still fighting like a champ with his foster mom right next to his side.
Simba’s surgery didn’t solve his condition for good, he still needs Cindy’s care and attention daily.
Naturally, it was hard for Cindy to give him up for adoption so Simba became what I like to call a ‘foster fail’. Cindy officially adopted him and he gained a forever mom alongside a cat brother!
He enjoys his new life to the maximum and spends his days playing with his brother Keanu or cuddling with Cindy.
Simba’s recovery journey is far from over, as he needs constant medical care and attention, but this doesn’t stop him from being a happy cat.
His mom documents Simba’s journey over on Facebook, where she updates everyone on his current state. Make sure to give them a follow!
I’m so grateful Simba ended up in the right home, where he has the chance to lead a normal life!
