A Heartbreaking Discovery
On a chilly Halloween night, a tiny four-pound kitten found herself completely alone.
Someone had dropped her off outside of an animal shelter and walked away in the dark.
Terrified and confused, the little feline was screaming her head off for anyone to help.
Shelter staff quickly brought her inside to safety, wondering how anyone could leave such a vulnerable creature behind.
A Unique Little Face
As workers examined the kitten, they immediately noticed her distinct appearance.
She had a genetic defect that gave her a flat skull and slightly protruding eyes.
Because of her unique looks and the holiday she was found on, the shelter staff fittingly named her Goblin.
They suspected she might have been abandoned by a breeder or someone who didn’t understand her special needs.

As Goblin settled into her new home, Valerie took her to the vet to learn more about her needs.
The genetic defects that gave Goblin her unique face also caused some corneal scarring and prevented her teeth from coming in properly.
She even has a cute little curl at the tip of her tail, which the vet assured Valerie was completely harmless.
There is also a chance she has some dwarfism traits, meaning she will likely stay a petite little girl forever.

She stands right near the door, waiting eagerly so she can yell "hi" and demand her daily hugs.
