Cat Cafe Fosters Four Tiny Newcomers, And They’re Already Stealing Hearts

Sometimes, the greatest joys in life come in small, furry forms, and that’s exactly what happened at the delightful Pause Cat Cafe

This cozy spot for cat lovers and coffee drinkers recently introduced four cute new kittens, adding a wave of purrs and playful energy to the cafe.

These aren’t just any cats; they are rescue kittens who have been given a second chance at life in a loving home where they will receive plenty of affection from both the staff and visitors.

The four little furballs, all girls, were eager to win over the hearts of everyone who stops by. They are named Ellie, Eddie, Izzy, and Lizzy, and they came from the caring team at Waifs and Strays Cat Rescue

This partnership is fantastic, as it provides these kittens with a safe and loving place to grow while also enhancing the experience for the cafe’s guests.

Before these kittens arrived, Pause Cat Cafe already had a group of 10 cats. Manager Chloe White noted in an interview that this is the first group of kittens to join the cafe since it opened in 2017:

“We had 12 cats when we opened but we’ve lost two.”

Unfortunately, Ellie, Eddie, Izzy, and Lizzy had a rough start, as their feral parents rejected them for unknown reasons.

It’s a sad beginning, but thankfully, they were rescued by the kind people at Waifs and Strays, who took care of them until they were ready for their new adventure at the cafe.

Introducing new cats can be a tricky task, kind of like trying to mix different groups of friends in high school, but with more hissing and hopefully less drama!

The team at Pause Cat Cafe took special care to make sure everything went smoothly. Before the kittens even arrived, they were given blankets that smelled like the cafe’s current cats, and the existing cats got blankets with the kittens’ scents, too.

This smart idea helps them get used to each other’s smells in a friendly way, which can help them bond and avoid any fights over territory or grumpy hisses.

When the kittens got to the cafe, they were welcomed into the “kitten palace,” a special area separated by a clear plastic wall.

Ms. White explained that this “kitten palace” is a space for the little ones to adjust to their new home at their own speed.

It also lets the resident cats watch the newcomers without feeling overwhelmed. It’s a great way to help them settle in.

It’s also good to know that Pause Cat Cafe is doing things the right way. As Ms. White confirmed:

“We’ve got our [Animal Activity] licence from the council and they’re happy that there’s 14 cats here, and how they’re kept.”

Pause Cat Cafe takes safety seriously and has some smart rules to keep both customers and their furry friends happy.

When you enter, you need to sanitize your hands (because sharing germs with a cat is a no-go!), and flash photography is not allowed (cats don’t like bright lights in their eyes, especially when they’re trying to nap!).

Also, it’s important to let sleeping cats rest. Plus, there’s always a staff member around to watch over the cats, acting like a guardian to make sure everyone is behaving. The cafe even has a pull-out bed for staff, showing how much they care about the cats all day long.

Looking ahead, there will be a schedule for trained kitten caregivers to keep Ellie, Eddie, Izzy, and Lizzy safe as they start meeting visitors.

This gradual introduction is a smart way to help the kittens gain confidence and get used to people in a friendly environment.

So, maybe you don’t want to miss out on a visit to Pause Cat Cafe. You can enjoy a tasty sandwich, a slice of cake, and a refreshing drink while also meeting these four cute rescue kittens who have found a loving home.

It’s a great deal: you get your coffee fix and some cozy kitty cuddles, and these little ones get to socialize and possibly find their forever homes!
