NYC Rescuers Shocked To Learn That Cat Found Under Amazon Truck Has Traveled Across The World
You know when you see a stray and think, “Oh, he’ll move along soon”? Well, that wasn’t the case for this little guy.
One morning on Long Island, NYC, Amazon workers noticed a fluffy orange cat hiding under one of the delivery trucks.
At first, they figured he was just passing through. But days passed… then weeks… and there he was, still curled up under the same truck, acting like it was home.

The workers couldn’t just walk away. They started leaving food, hoping to gain his trust.
Slowly, it worked, but it was clear this cat wasn’t planning to leave anytime soon. That’s when they called John Debacker, a local rescuer known for helping strays all over New York.
John arrived armed with food (because, honestly, who can resist that?), and patiently coaxed the cat out from under the truck.
The rescue itself went smoothly, but what came next left everyone speechless.

John scanned the cat’s microchip, expecting a nearby address. Maybe a block or two away, perhaps another part of the city.
But the results were shocking: the cat wasn’t from New York at all. He was from Bermuda. Yep, over 700 miles away across the ocean.
John couldn’t believe it, sharing in an interview:
“I was shocked.”

So how did a senior cat from Bermuda end up under a delivery truck in Long Island?
John contacted the Bermuda SPCA, hoping to untangle the mystery. He discovered the cat’s name was Frankie, sharing:
“We’re not sure if he was a stowaway or if the person that he belonged to moved to the States recently and he got loose.”

Frankie’s life had already been one adventurous journey. Born in the UK, he moved to Bermuda, then was adopted by a family in Turks and Caicos.
That family couldn’t keep him long-term, so he ended up in South Carolina, only to be surrendered to another shelter later on.
Eventually, a rescue group from New York brought him north, where he somehow found his way under that Amazon truck.
Quite unbelievable, right?

No wonder rescuers started calling him “Mr. Worldwide.” John shared on Facebook:
“This world traveler has seen more places than most people have.”
Despite being around 15 years old, Frankie was still full of charm and love. He purred nonstop and soaked up every bit of attention. John said he was one of the sweetest cats he’d ever met.
Now safe at Last Chance Animal Rescue in New York, Frankie is finally ready for a peaceful, cozy life.
After years of bouncing from place to place, this world-traveling cat is waiting for the family who will give him the loving home he’s always deserved.
