Delaware Firefighters Rescue Kitten Stuck Under Car Hood And Take Him For A Ride Of His Life
It wasn’t an ordinary call for The Minquas Fire Company #1 in Newport, Delaware. Instead of rushing to fight flames, the crew got on a mission to save one tiny life.
Tucked away under the hood of a car, a stray kitten was in big trouble. The firefighters worked with patience and gentleness you’d expect from people used to handling precious cargo, making sure the little guy was safe before pulling him free.
Once the kitten was safe and sound, the firefighters named him Blaze. And Blaze didn’t just get rescued; oh no.
He got a proper firehouse send-off, riding in style in a firetruck all the way to Faithful Friends Animal Society, where he could finally rest and feel safe.
The shelter shared on their Instagram:
“There’s never a dull moment here at Faithful Friends! Minquas Fire Company #1 found a stray kitten in Newport, in the hood of a car. After safely rescuing him from the vehicle, the kitten – now named Blaze – got a first-class ride in their firetruck to our shelter.”
When Blaze arrived at FFAS’s new animal adoption center on Airport Road in New Castle, the shelter’s caring veterinary team immediately gave him a thorough check-up.
To everyone’s relief, he was healthy and unharmed. Now, with a clean bill of health, Blaze is ready for the next chapter of his life: finding a loving forever home where he can feel safe and cherished. FFAS shared:
“Blaze received a thorough exam from our vet team, and will soon be available for adoption!”
The staff at Faithful Friends couldn’t be happier to have Blaze safely in their care. They were so grateful to the Minquas Fire Company, praising the firefighters’ quick thinking and gentle approach that saved the tiny kitten.
