Tiny Kitten Curled Up On Bronx Ledge In Urgent Need Of Rescue But No One Stops To Help

Sharing is caring!

Recently, in the Bronx, New York, on Clay Avenue, a small orange kitten was found curled up on a cold concrete ledge.

He was softly crying out in pain, yet unnoticed by the busy people passing by. Everyone seemed too wrapped up in their own lives to hear his quiet pleas for help.

The kitten was weak and malnourished, and his eyes were sealed shut, crusted with blood. Fortunately, shocked by the kitten’s dire situation, a compassionate individual decided to step in and help.

He reached out to a group he trusted to take immediate action: Little Wanderers, a dedicated foster-based cat rescue and TNR organization in New York.

Good folks at Little Wanderers immediately agreed to take in the poor kitten, naming him Clayton, after the street where he was found.

Recognizing his critical condition, they rushed him to The Animal Medical Center, the world’s largest non-profit animal hospital based in New York City.

At the hospital, it was discovered that 8-month-old Clayton was suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection. His body temperature was dangerously low and needed immediate attention, and an unpleasant odor suggested a hidden injury.

Clayton was also dealing with severe anemia and bilateral pneumonia, necessitating an aggressive treatment plan including antibiotics, gastrointestinal protection, fluids, and eye medications.

However, the biggest health issue was that he had no appetite, which led to the surgical insertion of a feeding tube to ensure he received the necessary nutrition.

Despite all the hardship, Clayton proved himself to be an extremely affectionate and kind feline. He was so grateful they saved him, purring through his treatments without a hint of aggression or resistance.

He was soon placed in a wonderful foster home where he received all the love and care he so desperately craved. In a matter of days, Clayton began showing signs of improvement, becoming a lively and energetic kitten.

Little Wanderers shared the good news with their Facebook friends, saying:

“Baby boy Clayton is at home with his wonderful foster mom @reb_lip and look how happy he is! That’s a feeding tube surgically inserted to provide nutritional support while he recovers from a pneumonia and upper respiratory infection. It’s amazing and nothing less than a miracle.”

To his foster mom’s delight, Clayton soon began to show an interest in the food she was eating.

It wasn’t long before he made the full switch from tube feeding to solid food, happily purring with every bite. Just listen to him! Isn’t this the most satisfying sound?

From then on, Clayton’s health took a turn for the better. Day by day, he grew bigger, healthier, and stronger, blossoming into a real sweetheart.

He even found his forever home, where he now lives as a happy and spoiled kitty. Gone are his days of being overlooked on the cold streets of New York.

Those tough times have faded into mere memories, making way for a bright and promising future for this remarkable kitty.
