When Latoya Greene, a U.S. soldier and certified fitness trainer, brought her first cat home, she had no idea she was about to welcome a tiny furball with the heart of a lion.
This little guy, Dimonte, didn’t just settle in. He claimed the house as his kingdom and immediately set his sights on his 130-pound dog brother, Purpose.
Dimonte wasn’t originally meant to be a permanent addition to Latoya’s life. In one of her Instagram posts, she explained that he was supposed to go to a shelter, but she decided to adopt him instead.
Even though Latoya never considered herself a “cat person,” she had zero doubts about giving Dimonte a home, sharing:
“I know nothing about cats but I hate to see animals mistreated.”
From the moment he arrived, Dimonte made it clear he was in charge. Confident and audacious, he climbed on every piece of furniture, played with Latoya’s wigs, and even demanded rides on her shoulders.
It was obvious this kitten knew he was royalty in the house.
But the funniest and most entertaining part of the household quickly became the dynamic between Dimonte and Purpose.
At first, Purpose wasn’t thrilled about sharing his home. He had been Latoya’s only fur baby and wasn’t used to a bossy little kitten asserting himself.
But it didn’t take long for them to become inseparable.
Despite the size difference, Dimonte quickly established himself as the household troublemaker. As Latoya put it, he’s a little menace who loves to wake Purpose from his naps and keep him on his toes.
At first, Purpose seemed to just roll with it, letting Dimonte have his way, perhaps respecting his audacity and wanting to avoid harm.
But as the days went by and Dimonte got even braver, Purpose started to push back a little, letting Dimonte know he wasn’t going to be completely bossed around.
Of course, he stayed gentle the whole time, making sure their roughhousing never went too far. Before long, their playful wrestling matches became part of the daily routine, and Latoya couldn’t help but laugh at their antics.
Beyond playtime, Dimonte and Purpose share a remarkable bond. They nap together, eat together, go on walks together, attend vet visits together, and even hang out during Latoya’s fitness recordings.
No matter what the day brings, these two are side by side, partners in mischief and comfort.
Watching the affection between this unlikely pair is heartwarming. Dimonte may be tiny, but he has a huge personality, and Purpose proves that even a big dog can learn to love a little bully.
