Arizona Resident Sees A Shopping Cart Swept By Water And Can’t Believe What’s Clinging To It
A kind-hearted person was out near a canal in Arizona, just going about their day, when something caught their eye in the water.
There, in the middle of the fast-moving current, a shopping cart was stuck. It was an odd sight on its own, but as they stared at it, something just didn’t feel right.
At first, the cart seemed empty, like just another piece of trash caught in the flow. But then, they saw something lying on top of it.

Realizing this would be a challenging rescue, AHS immediately reached out to the Phoenix Fire Department, and together, the teams sprang into action.
With determination and precision, they worked quickly yet carefully. Using a ladder and specialized gear, they managed to reach the trapped pup.
Dorthea was clearly frightened, but she remained calm and still as the team slowly and gently maneuvered the cart closer to the canal’s edge, ensuring her safety with every move. As the cart was pulled closer, a sense of hope began to rise.
Inch by inch, the rescuers carefully brought Dorthea to safety, finally lifting her onto dry land. And as soon as her paws touched solid ground, something shifted.
Her tail gave the smallest wag – flicker of joy from a tired pup who had nearly lost all hope. It was as if she suddenly realized, “I made it. I’m safe.”
The rescuers quickly wrapped her in towels and rushed her to the AHS ambulance. She was hungry, covered in ticks, and severely dehydrated.
But she was alive, and the relief in her eyes was unmistakable – she was filled with life once more.
At the trauma hospital, Dorthea got the full care she so badly needed. She was cleaned up, given fluids, and checked over from head to toe.
Despite everything she’d been through, her health was surprisingly good. Just a little dental work was needed, and the rest was all about rest, food, and love.
No one knows exactly how Dorthea ended up in that canal – whether she was abandoned, lost, or simply wandered too close to the edge. The truth may never be known.
What mattered the most was that she was safe. She was surrounded by compassionate people who saw her not just as a survivor, but as a sweet, loving soul – a little miracle on four legs.
For the next month, Dorthea stayed at AHS, enjoying all the cuddles and love she received. Then, something incredible happened – she found her forever home.
