Dog Smuggles Stray Kittens Inside Through Pet Door, Leaving Owners Scratching Their Heads

Sharing is caring!

Imagine you’re enjoying a peaceful evening at home with your significant other when, out of nowhere, you find not one, but three kittens – and none of them are yours!

Well, for one family in Texas, this bizarre scenario became a reality.

It all started when they stumbled upon a tiny kitten inside their house, which left them scratching their heads. As proud dog owners, this furry feline intruder made little sense.

Before they could even react, their beloved dog casually strolled through the pet door, carrying a second kitten.

That’s when it clicked: Their good boy was the mastermind behind the kitten invasion in their home!

The discovery of the second kitten prompted the couple to head outside, hoping to locate their mother.

As they scoured the backyard, faint cries led them to the third kitten, safely tucked nearby.

With no sign of the mother cat, they quickly brought the third kitten inside and reached out to Coastal Bend Cat Rescue (CBCR), hoping the rescue could step in to help.

The team at CBCR gladly welcomed the three kittens. After a thorough check-up, they estimated the babies were around three weeks old and in surprisingly good condition.

Sharing the story on their Facebook page, they praised the heroic dog, noting how the kittens likely wouldn’t have survived if not for his brave intervention. They wrote:

“Sometimes rescue takes some faith, a pup, and pixie dust!”

In honor of their magical rescue, the team at CBCR affectionately named the kittens after beloved childhood characters: Peter Pan, Wendy, and Tinker Bell.

While waiting for a spot to open in CBCR’s foster program, the family agreed to care for the kittens in the meantime.

They took on the responsibility, feeding the trio a blend of kitten formula and wet food, ensuring the little ones had everything they needed.

Two weeks later, Peter Pan, Wendy, and Tinker Bell were finally able to join the foster program.

According to CBCR’s Facebook post, the family had taken such exceptional care of the kittens that they began their foster journey as happy, healthy felines!

The trio absolutely thrived in their foster home, reveling in every moment of their fun sibling adventures.

They loved climbing atop furniture, darting around to explore every nook and cranny of their new foster home, and following their foster parents everywhere they went.

But above all – they loved to eat! These furballs had insatiable appetites, relieved to finally have steady meals and no longer worry about where their next one would come from.

As time passed, the kittens blossomed into healthy, happy young adults, ready to embark on the next chapter in their story: Finding a forever home!

Thanks to the family who found them – especially their canine friend – the kittens were saved from the hardships of being strays and given a chance to enjoy the indoor life.

It’s heartwarming to know they found their happy ending! I’m sure their new lives are filled with just as much excitement and adventure as they had in foster care.
