The worst thing that can happen to an abandoned or missing pet is ending up in traffic. While frantically searching for their owners and a way out, sadly, most of them face a tragic end.

However, this mop-like dog with dreadlocked hair and a pink nose managed to escape such a fate thanks to a kind-hearted driver.

It all happened when Yamy Nuñez was driving through Los Angeles, California. What she didn’t expect was to stumble upon a dangerous situation in the middle of traffic.

She saw a helpless pup wandering the road with no one to help her. That’s when Yamy did something truly heroic.

Yamy, a dedicated volunteer for Logan’s Legacy 29, stopped in the middle of the traffic, determined to save the matted dog from the multiple lanes of speeding cars.

Even though the dog was skittish and frightened, Yamy refused to give up on her. Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, proudly shared on Facebook:

“She was crossing a busy street and Yamy got out of her car to stop traffic… After some time, she had this sweet girl safe. You are her hero Yamy.”

But Yamy’s heroic mission didn’t end there. Seeing the desperate dog needing professional help, she rushed her straight to Camino Pet Hospital.

The veterinary team welcomed the dog with open arms and instantly began showering her with love and affection.

That’s when something amazing happened. During a thorough examination, the vets discovered a microchip with an active phone number.

The vets called the number, only for both sides to get shocked…

The person on the line was a member of a worried family who couldn’t believe their long-lost pet had been found and taken to safety. Hall explained in her post:

“Bella had been missing for 2 months. They literally couldn’t believe she was found alive.”

It turned out that the poor dog’s name was Bella, and she had a family who had spent months desperately searching for her.

Sadly, they couldn’t find her anywhere, and their hope began to fade. But when they received the call from the vets, they were left speechless.

Overjoyed with the outcome, Hall quickly scheduled Bella for a much-needed makeover and arranged the reunion with her family.

After two long months of surviving on the streets, Bella received a full makeover and jumped in the car to be reunited with her beloved family.

Their reunion was nothing short of heartwarming. The moment the family saw Bella wagging her tail with joy, they broke down in tears. Hall recalled:

“Oh my goodness, there wasn’t a dry eye. She instantly recognized her family and her dog family. I can’t explain the joy.”

The situation Bella was in could have ended tragically, but thanks to compassionate Yamy and her determination, it turned out better than anyone expected. Hall added:

“Miracles still happen. God sent his angel, my friend, Yamy.”

Bella is now recovering from her long journey and lives a happy life with her loving family. Hopefully, she’s learned her lesson.

Let this story serve as a reminder to always help animals in need or contact professionals for assistance. By doing so, you could help reunite a worried family with their missing pet, just like Yamy did.
