Family Cat Returns Home With An Odd Note In A Plastic Bag Taped To His Collar

We all know how much our furry friends love to explore the outdoors. They’re always sneaking out, eager to sniff around and discover what’s out there. But sometimes, these adventures take unexpected turns and lead to some surprising situations.

This was exactly what happened with Gandalf the cat, who returned home one day wearing an angry note on his collar, warning that he would be “taken away”!

Meet Gandalf, a four-year-old mix of white Bengal and Russian blue, who adores exploring the outdoors. Normally, he would roam around the neighborhood for a few hours and come back home without incident.

However, this time, Gandalf returned home with an odd note stuck inside a plastic bag taped to his collar. As it turned out, it was a three-page rant about Gandalf’s outdoor adventures, leaving his owner, Chris, completely baffled.

The first page of the note delivered a stern warning to Chris, urging him to keep Gandalf indoors. It seemed that Gandalf had been sneaking into a neighbor’s house, helping himself to food off their table, and causing damage to their furniture.

This irritated neighbor was clearly fed up with Gandalf’s ‘break-ins’, as the note stated:

“Please keep your cat at home. Your cat almost every day comes to my house, takes food from the table, scratches my sofa, spreads fleas in my house.”

Chris was taken aback by this unfriendly message as he tried to make sense of it all. Yet, his concern only deepened when he read the second page, revealing even more alarming details:

“I can’t leave the windows in the house open. I’m honestly fed up. If I see your cat again at my house I promise I’ll take him far somewhere.”

Chris realized this wasn’t just a complaint. Oh no, it was an outright threat!

The thought of someone threatening to take Gandalf to who knows where really shook Chris up, raising serious concerns about Gandalf’s safety.

To make matters even more confusing, the note also mentioned that Gandalf sometimes even stayed overnight:

“Your cat as well stays overnight in my house and sleeps in the kitchen. You better feed your cat.”

Chris was puzzled by his neighbor’s harsh words, knowing that Gandalf was considered a good boy. Everyone in the neighborhood saw him as friendly and affectionate, as Chris explained in an interview:

“He is a bit of a nosy cat, he goes out and he does his rounds, as cats do. People know who he is in the area, he is very sociable and loves people.”

Chris did notice his cat was getting a little chubby lately, which prompted him to put a ‘do not feed’ sign on Gandalf’s collar. However, nobody likes to be accused of wrongdoing, especially when it involves their pet!

According to Chris, nobody ever complained about Gandalf before because he was truly a well-behaved cat.

Although he enjoyed wandering around, he was very sociable and never caused any trouble, as Chris explained:

“Even if he does visit people, we have never had any complaints about him before. He spends nights and evenings in our house. He has a lovely character, and me and my girlfriend have never had issues with him scratching our furniture.”

Chris made it clear his cat was well taken care of, well-fed, and definitely didn’t have fleas. He even checked Gandalf after finding that note on his collar, confirming he was flea-free.

However, after reading the threat note, Chris couldn’t help but feel a bit paranoid about letting Gandalf out again, adding:

“I understand that it is cheeky of him to enter someone else’s home but we also have had no knowledge or control over this up until now. He will now have to be kept inside for the rest of our time living here.”

Although Chris wanted to address the issue with his neighbor and clear things up, the note didn’t include any contact information, making it impossible to reach out. Worried about Gandalf’s safety, Chris made the decision to keep him indoors from now on.

As a result, Gandalf will now be strictly an indoor cat. It’s a shame to limit his adventurous spirit, but Chris figured it’s better to be safe than sorry!
