A mechanic in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, recently was taken aback when he came to open his shop in the morning.
A duct-taped cardboard box awaited him right in front of his doors. Curious, he opened the box only to be met with the cutest four pairs of eyes looking back at him.
A litter of four tiny kittens was cruelly abandoned, left to wait for someone kind enough to help them.
The man immediately rushed to the local rescue organization in Mt. Juliet called True Rescue. The shelter staff was more than ready to help the adorable siblings, but they realized something unusual upon further inspection.
One of the kittens, an adorable ginger boy left everyone speechless and the reason for that is quite simple.
This little fellow had a genetic mutation, so rare that even the shelter volunteers have never seen it despite spending every day around cats. As they described it in their TikTok post:
“This 8-9 wk. old kitten, who was dumped at a mechanic’s shop duct-taped inside a box with his siblings, gave us quite the surprise today! He has FOUR EARS!”
Yes, you read that right! This adorable ginger feline was born with a rare genetic mutation that gave him purr-fect hearing, LOL!
Jokes aside, this will not cause him any health issues further in life. It’s just an extra pair tucked right inside his ears.
Being so rare, and might I add adorable, the shelter staff wanted to give him a proper name to go with his unique appearance. Many of their followers had some genius ideas, as one comment put it:
“Radar if he’s a super alert and interactive kitty. Clover if he’s more quiet and laid back. I’m betting Radar cuz he’s an orange cat.”
Other followers had more genius ideas on how to name him, making it hard for the shelter staff to choose a proper name. As one follower also commented:
“Dolby as in Dolby surround sound.”
However, one name suggestion stood out to volunteers and they decided to adorably name him Audio! As said on their Facebook page:
“We have named him Audio, and he is 8-9 weeks old, weighing just over 2 pounds. We’ll videotape him soon and share his cuteness with everyone because this baby is simply ear-resistible (sorry, can’t stop)! Welcome to True Rescue, Audio, where love has no boundaries!”
Audio received so much love from the internet community, that the shelter believes they will find him a forever home in no time.
Audio and his siblings will stay at True Rescue until their forever humans show up! Thanks to the kind man who saved them, the adorable little family got a second chance at life!
