Man Wants This Adorable Kitten Euthanized But The Reason Is Truly Bizarre

When you decide it’s time to bring a cat into your life, you’ve got two choices: adopting one or getting a kitten from a breeder. If your heart is already set on a certain breed, it’s only natural to start looking for breeders.

Still, you’ve got to dig a little deeper before making that call. Checking that the cats are being cared for properly and living a good life is a must. And there’s a story that really shows why this matters. Let me share it with you.

One day, a man showed up at a vet clinic with a tiny, snow-white kitten in his arms. But instead of seeking treatment or advice, he stunned everyone with a single request: he wanted the kitten euthanized.

At that moment, Kim Soldan’s husband was working at the clinic.

The moment he heard that, he quickly took the kitten right out of the man’s hands. But when he learned the reason behind the request, he was beyond shocked!

This tiny furball had been born with a condition called polydactyly, which means he had an extra thumb on his paws. Because of that, the breeder decided he wasn’t “profitable” and couldn’t be sold. Can you believe that? It’s just heartbreaking.

Kim’s husband ended up bringing the kitten home, and they decided to name him Skywalker. Little did Skywalker know, he had just landed himself in the coolest home ever.

He suddenly found himself surrounded by a whole bunch of new siblings, both cats and dogs. One of them, a dog named Mojito, wasn’t just any dog. She was a therapy dog who spent her days helping people in need.

Mojito took that role to heart, and from the very first moment she laid eyes on Skywalker, she began looking after him. And Skywalker? Well, he definitely wasn’t complaining about all that attention.

Before long, the two were glued to each other, and Mojito hardly ever let him out of her paws.

She showed him all the best things in life, like how to sit at the window and watch the birds, the art of a good cuddle, and every possible position for the perfect nap.

Skywalker had plenty of other furry siblings in the house, but Mojito easily claimed the title of his favorite sister.

Sadly, not long after, Mojito was diagnosed with cancer. Her family did everything they could to make her comfortable, and the vets even performed two surgeries in hopes of saving her.

But despite all their efforts, Mojito didn’t survive. Kim shared on Instagram:

“Run free, Mojito. A piece of our hearts left last night and will never be filled. Thank you for 8 amazing years.”

Skywalker felt the loss deeply. Mojito had been by his side from the very first day he arrived, and every single night, she curled up right next to him.

After some time, Kim shared a video update on Skywalker where she wrote:

“It’s no secret that Skywalker took it HARD when we lost his best friend, Mojito. So hard he ended up needing medication.”

Thankfully, his new sibling Bellini stepped in, offering comfort and doing her best to help mend the empty space Mojito had left in his heart.

At the end of the day, I can’t help but feel incredibly thankful that Skywalker was saved when he was.

If Kim’s husband hadn’t stepped in right then, this little special guy might never have had the chance to experience the kind of happy, loving life he has now.

It’s amazing how one simple act of kindness can change everything for a small life.
