No one can stop outdoor and stray cats from wandering around people’s backyards, and it was the same with this tiny ginger kitten.
However, as much as this kitten wanted to keep moving, he couldn’t do it for a heartbreaking reason.
One day, a homeowner stumbled upon a tiny ginger kitten lying motionlessly among a pile of trash in his yard.
Despite feeding the kitten, the homeowner’s immediate call to rescue was driven by a desire to simply have the kitten removed.
Devoted cat rescuers, Cheryl and her husband, instantly arrived at the kitten’s location, but the sight left them heartbroken.
The kitten was too weak to stand or even show interest in food. He was clearly in desperate need of help.
Cheryl gently scooped the kitten and could barely hold back tears upon feeling his bones. To be even worse, it looked like the poor furry soul lost his tail and he was covered in wounds.
They gently placed the kitten in a pet carrier and took him to a safe haven where he could receive professional help.
The rescuers named the kitten Julius and hoped from the bottom of their hearts he’d survive. Fortunately, the first night went better than expected.
At the vet, Julius received a thorough examination and a much-needed bath, clearing him of flea dander and dirt. Cheryl told The Dodo:
“He had flea dander and dirt all over him.”
The mystery of his lost tail remained unsolved, but the vets bandaged his wounds, hopeful for his recovery.
What warmed everyone’s hearts was Julius’s fighting spirit. Despite being in a bad condition, he showed remarkable sweetness and affection from the start.
Under professional care, Julius began to show signs of improvement, standing on his own and revealing a playful and friendly demeanor. Cheryl had a purrfect explanation for that:
“Probably for the first time in his life, he was safe, he was warm, he was fed, and he was comfortable.”
The story took an uplifting turn when Cheryl’s son, Rob, met Julius. It was simply love at first sight.
Julius captured Rob’s heart and became an official member of his family. He quickly adjusted to his new life, humans, and even other furry companions. Rob said:
“He just wanted to live, and he wanted to be loved. And we’re fortunate enough to be the ones that get to give it to him.”
Now, Julius is living a happy life with his forever family in a loving home, and it’s all thanks to the unwavering dedication of Cheryl and her husband, who never gave up on him.
