Texas Feral Cat Who Never Wanted Human Touch Now Can’t Get Enough Of His New Mom

Feral cats rarely survive long on the streets, and it’s almost unheard of for an older one to be adopted.

But a brave cat named Mr. B showed that it’s never too late to find love and safety.

For more than ten years, Mr. B ruled a small feral colony in Texas, proudly roaming the streets and keeping his distance from people.

Rescuers tried to catch him multiple times, but he always chose the freedom of life outside over anyone’s help.

Then one day, something changed. Maybe age was catching up to him, or maybe he was just tired of constantly struggling to survive.

Whatever the reason, he finally walked into a trap, a decision that would change the course of his life forever.

Lindsey, a kind-hearted rescuer, immediately stepped in to care for him. Despite his age and the many health issues he faced, she believed he could be helped.

Sharing her first impression with this old guy, she shared in a YouTube video:

“When Mr. B finally walked into the trap, I think he realized he needed help and that maybe we were gonna help him… I remember him looking at me through that trap, like, with his big old eyes, just looking at me like, ‘All right, what next?’”

Mr. B’s condition was rough. He was suffering from ear mites, a severe case of mange, and worn-out veins from years on the streets.

Then came the news that broke Lindsey’s heart: he tested positive for FIV.

Despite all the obstacles, Lindsey refused to give up. She could see a spark in his eyes, and that fueled her determination to help him fight.

Winning his trust was no easy task. Mr. B wasn’t socialized and wouldn’t let anyone touch him at first.

So Lindsey got creative and started using a wooden spoon to scratch him through the bars of his crate. Slowly, week by week, Mr. B began to relax and even enjoy the attention. Lindsey recalled:

“After a few weeks of that, he started to trust me. It was amazing. It was an incredible experience. Just talking about it is emotional.”

As Mr. B’s trust grew, Lindsey replaced the spoon with a garden glove to treat his ears and continue building a bond. Gradually, his health improved and his spirit lifted.

Lindsey realized he was ready for indoor life and deserved a comfortable, safe retirement, sharing:

“All of a sudden, though, as he was getting better, he was really enjoying what I offered him, he was enjoying being pet. I realized at that point that he could stay indoors forever, and maybe he did deserve an indoor retirement.”

Before long, a woman named Jenna De Christofaro reached out. Touched by Mr. B’s resilience, Jenna opened her home and heart to him.

She was determined to give him the happy life he deserved, sharing:

“I cried when I saw him. We brought him up to my apartment and let him roam around. Just thinking about the moment I get teary because it was so special. I wanted him to live a good, long, happy life, and I wanted to be a part of that.”

From the moment he stepped into his new home, Mr. B thrived. He soaked up affection, played classical music with Jenna, and slowly let go of the fears from his past.

What was once a wary, untouchable feral cat now cuddles constantly with his mom. He even discovered his own musical talents, singing little songs that reflect his moods. Jenna shared:

“I would sing to him, and just a lot of TLC, and he just really opened up. He’s just so open to love… He also sings a lot, which is probably my favorite part about him. He has a different song for each emotion. I love it so much. It’s so unique.”

Mr. B’s shows that senior cats, FIV-positive cats, and ferals are all deserving of love and patience. It also highlights the dedication of rescuers and foster parents who give these overlooked animals a chance to thrive.

His story proves that it’s never too late to find happiness, comfort, and a forever home.
