NY Woman Adopts Cat Who Looks Like Wiener Dog, Then Discovers Sweet Secret Behind Her Grumpy Face
When a woman saw a photo of a grumpy-faced cat with tiny legs, she applied to adopt her immediately. She soon discovered the incredibly sweet personality hiding behind her dramatic scowl.
A Face Only A Mother Could Love

Some cats have a natural resting scowl that makes them look perpetually annoyed with the world. Kini is one of those cats.
With her deeply furrowed brow and intense stare, she often looks like she wants to be left completely alone.
Her new mom admits that Kini can be quite the little monster when it comes to her personal space. If anyone tries to get too close for a selfie, the tiny cat is known to flash a small snarl.
But beneath that prickly exterior was a very special feline waiting for the right person to understand her.
Love At First Sight

When Kini’s future mom was looking for a cat to adopt, she stumbled upon a photo of the uniquely shaped feline.
Instead of being put off by the grumpy expression, she felt an instant connection.
"When I saw a photo of her, I was like, ‘That is the cutest cat I’ve ever seen in my entire life,’" she recalled.
Without even meeting the little cat in person, she immediately submitted an adoption application.
The Vegas Showgirl Tail

Kini’s appearance is nothing short of extraordinary. She boasts a pair of really big, bright blue eyes that contrast sharply with her grumpy expression.
She also sports a massive, fluffy appendage that her mom fondly calls a "Vegas showgirl tail."
But her most defining physical trait is her teeny-tiny legs.
Her mom affectionately describes her as being shaped a lot like a wiener dog, but in cat form.
Living With A Tiny Drama Queen

Settling into her new home, Kini quickly established herself as the ruler of the household.
She proved to be quite the drama queen, demanding things be kept exactly to her liking.
If her humans dare to rearrange the furniture, Kini will stare at the couch in its new position, meow in protest, and then look directly at them to voice her displeasure.
She also insists on having plenty of room in bed, preferring to sleep completely perpendicular to ensure she gets maximum space.
Perfectly Healthy And Unique

Kini’s distinctive appearance is due to a condition called feline dwarfism.
Despite her unusual proportions, her mom notes that she is totally healthy.
She affectionately jokes that Kini looks as though an alien tried to create a cat from memory.
Because of her unique structure and permanent scowl, most strangers simply assume she is an angry, unapproachable pet.
The Sweetness Beneath The Scowl

The biggest surprise about Kini is how her personality directly contradicts her grumpy face.
To her mom’s delight, Kini is incredibly sweet, always purring, and genuinely happy.
As soon as you start petting her, the purr motor starts up, and she happily flops over onto her back.
She loves nothing more than getting her belly rubbed and rolling around on the floor to soak up the attention.
Standing Tall For Attention

Kini isn’t shy about demanding love when she wants it.
She frequently jumps up onto the bed, gets right into her mom’s face, and meows for affection.
One of her most endearing habits is standing up entirely on her tiny back legs to get a better look at things.
"When she stands up on her back legs, I think that’s like, the cutest thing," her mom shared. "She’s so funny."
A Bond Like No Other

As Kini grew more attached to her new mom, she actually developed some separation anxiety.
The two of them worked through the challenges together, building a bond rooted in deep trust and patience.
Today, Kini is a happy, thriving cat who brings immeasurable joy to her household.
Despite her grumpy exterior, she is an amazing little creature, and her mom feels incredibly lucky to have given this special dwarf cat the loving home she always deserved.
