Ohio Woman Takes In An Enormously Pregnant Foster Dog And Is Left Speechless By The Final Puppy Count
When a foster mom welcomed a heavily pregnant dog into her home, she thought a litter of five would be manageable. Then the contractions just kept coming.
A Leap Into The Unknown

When a woman decided to foster an enormously pregnant dog named Pebbles, she didn’t quite know what she was signing up for. She had never taken in an expectant mother before, but there was just something special about the sweet, heavy-bellied dog.
Calling her a "big, chunky monkey girl," the foster mom immediately felt a deep connection to the gentle stray. She knew right away that she had to do whatever she could to help the dog safely bring her babies into the world.
However, the foster mom had absolutely no idea when the puppies might arrive. She also didn’t know how many little lives were hiding inside Pebbles’s round belly.
Her thoughts raced a million miles an hour as she worried about being unprepared to help a dog give birth. It was a stressful waiting game, but she made sure her new guest felt as comfortable as possible.
The Waiting Game Ends

Pebbles settled into her temporary home perfectly, grateful for a soft place to rest. She stayed with her new foster mom for exactly a week before the real work began.
Around 2 a.m., the quiet house suddenly turned into a maternity ward. Pebbles had officially gone into labor in the middle of the night.
The brave dog handled the process beautifully, delivering her first few babies in the early hours of the morning. Her foster mom stayed right by her side, offering support and watching in awe.
A False Sense Of Relief

After a while, the foster mom looked down and saw five tiny puppies nursing happily. Pebbles seemed calm and relaxed, giving the impression that she was finally finished.
Seeing the small, quiet litter, her caretaker breathed a massive sigh of relief. The situation felt completely under control.
"Oh, wow, five!" the foster mom thought to herself. "This is so manageable."
The Surprises Keep Coming

Just as the foster mom started to relax, she saw another strong contraction hit Pebbles’s tired body. Shock washed over her as she realized the sweet dog was going to keep going.
"Oh my goodness," she thought in a panic. "We have another puppy in there."
But it wasn’t just one more puppy waiting to make an appearance. The long night of deliveries was actually far from over.
An Unbelievable Final Count

The foster mom watched in pure disbelief as more and more babies continued to arrive. She kept thinking Pebbles had to be done, but the tiny newborns just wouldn’t stop coming.
Finally, she sat down to count the squirming pile of little pups. She reached a staggering total of 14 puppies.
"There’s no way!" she laughed in disbelief. "This dog just had 14 puppies. This is insane."
Working Overtime

Taking care of 14 hungry mouths was a massive undertaking, but Pebbles was an absolute natural. She worked overtime to keep every single puppy fed and perfectly clean.
The gentle dog would get right down on their level, patiently letting the massive litter crawl all over her. She was a wonderful partner in getting the babies ready for the world.
Her foster mom was amazed by how sweet and dedicated she remained. Even with her hands completely full, Pebbles was an incredible mother the entire time.
Bittersweet Goodbyes

Thanks to Pebbles’s wonderful parenting, the massive litter grew into friendly, happy, and healthy puppies. Soon, it was time for them to find their forever families.
Adoption day was incredibly emotional for the foster mom, who had watched them grow from their very first breath. It was hard to say goodbye to the little lives she had helped save.
She felt like she was letting her own little babies loose into the world. Still, she knew they were completely ready for their next chapter.
A Boy And His Dog

After giving so much of herself, it was finally Pebbles’s turn to find a forever home. She was adopted by a loving family who gave her a beautiful new name: Zara.
The sweet dog quickly bonded with her new human brother, a young boy named Wyatt. When asked to rate his excitement about getting her on a scale from 1 to 10, Wyatt proudly declared it was a "billion trillion."
Wyatt even took over her training, proudly teaching Zara how to sit, lie down, and roll over. He absolutely loves working with her, and the family knows it makes Zara just as happy.
Seeing the two of them grow up together has been the ultimate reward. After working so hard to raise 14 babies, this tired mama finally got the beautiful, loving family she always deserved.
