Pennsylvania Cat Separated From Her Babies Keeps Hugging A Toy As If It’s Her Baby
Angel was found skinny and alone in a landfill. But a miraculous encounter at the shelter led to a reunion, a second chance, and a 16-year bond.
Abandoned In The Shadows

Angel was found wandering alone in a landfill, skinny and fending for herself.
Shelter staff believed she had once been someone’s pet because she was so incredibly friendly and used to people.
Sadly, it seemed likely that she was dumped out in the cold simply because she had gotten pregnant.
She arrived at the shelter all by herself, but her story was far from over.
A Heartbreaking Discovery

Just a few hours after Angel was brought in, a litter of tiny kittens arrived at the shelter.
They were completely by themselves and incredibly vulnerable without a mother to nurse them.
Because the shelter was overwhelmed and the kittens were too young to survive alone, they were set to be euthanized.
No one realized at first that these tiny babies belonged to the sweet cat they had just taken in.
A Mother’s Desperate Plea

Fate intervened when shelter staff carried the kittens through the main kennel area.
As they walked past Angel’s cage, the normally sweet and quiet cat completely changed her demeanor.
She went wild, pawing frantically at the cage doors and crying out to get to the tiny babies.
The staff immediately realized the connection, saving the kittens’ lives and reuniting the fractured family.
Left Behind Once More

Thanks to her desperate plea, Angel and her babies were sent to a foster home together so she could safely raise them.
Over time, all of the kittens grew strong and were eventually adopted into loving families.
But Angel, who was still less than a year old herself, was left waiting for a family of her own.
As is often the case in rescue, the young mama cat was ignored and overlooked by potential adopters.
A Temporary Fix Becomes Forever

That’s when a kind-hearted woman stepped in and agreed to foster the young mother.
She thought Angel was incredibly sweet and assumed she would find a forever home in no time.
But the bond between them formed instantly, and the foster home quickly became a permanent one.
“Pretty much as soon as I met her, she was happy to be snuggled,” her new mom explained.
The Substitute Kitten

During her very first night in her new apartment, Angel began walking around and exploring her surroundings.
She found a small toy on the floor and instantly fell in love with it.
Her mom believes Angel treats the toy like it’s her own kitten.
Sometimes at night, the sweet cat still walks around the house carrying her little baby and crying softly.
Comfort In Times Of Sorrow

That little toy became a lifelong source of immense comfort for the gentle cat.
Whenever something happens that upsets her, she immediately seeks out her “baby” and carries it around.
This was especially true when the family’s other cat sadly passed away.
Angel mourned the loss deeply, carrying her toy and crying multiple times a day as she processed her grief.
A Fiercely Loyal Guardian

As the years went by, Angel’s maternal instincts naturally extended to her human family.
When her mom had two children, Angel immediately embraced them with the same fierce love she had for her own babies.
During a particularly rough postpartum period with her first child, Angel never left her mom’s side.
She spent countless days sitting right next to her on the couch, offering quiet, unwavering support.
Sharing Her Most Prized Possession

Angel’s devotion to the children only grew stronger as they got older.
One day, when the family’s young daughter started crying and wouldn’t stop, Angel sprang into action.
She ran to find her beloved baby kitten toy.
In a touching display of empathy, she brought her most prized possession directly to the crying child to comfort her.
A Lifetime Of Love

Today, Angel is a beautiful 17-year-old senior cat who has spent over 16 years with her favorite person.
She doesn’t hear as well as she used to, and her mom has to gently touch her to wake her up.
Despite being four years out from a major surgery, her spirit remains as loving and maternal as ever.
Through moves, marriage, new jobs, and babies, Angel has been a constant support, proving that the best rescues always rescue us right back.
