Rescued Kitten Meets Foster Dogs In California And Does Something Unexpected
Not all cats stick to their own kind. Some, like the gentle kitten Lavender, are ready to make friends with anyone who crosses their path.
These days, Lavender enjoys the company of a variety of furry companions, but her life didn’t start out so fortunate.
She was once alone, facing what could have been her last days, until a kind-hearted rescuer stepped in to save her.
Haley Waugh, a passionate animal lover at Front Street Shelter in Sacramento, California, had been mourning the loss of two special-needs pets. During this difficult time, an orphaned little kitten appeared in her life.
The instant Haley cradled Lavender, her grief started to fade. She immediately recognised that Lavender was exactly what she needed, and that she could offer the kitten a loving home.
Lavender had been discovered alone in a backyard, with no sign of her mother or siblings nearby.
She was so young and tiny that it was a miracle she even survived. However, Lavender proved to be a brave kitten with a strong will to live. Haley shared in an interview:
“I knew I was taking her home to foster.”
Although Haley hadn’t intended to adopt another pet, she couldn’t resist Lavender. Within just a few days in her new home, Lavender began to flourish.
Lavender quickly grew in both size and confidence, filling Haley’s life with joy and becoming a cherished member of the family.
She had always been sweet and friendly, but everything shifted the day she encountered a group of foster puppies hiding under Haley’s car.
From the moment Lavender met the tiny foster puppies, she couldn’t stay away. She eagerly spent time with them, treating them like her own little friends.
This was just the start of her affection for dogs – while she still enjoyed the company of other cats, she seemed to prefer the playful energy of puppies and adult dogs.
Lavender quickly formed a special friendship with a tiny puppy named Cricket. Their playful spirits and shared sense of adventure made them inseparable.
But Cricket wasn’t her only four-legged friend – Lavender fearlessly connected with dogs of all breeds and sizes, always eager to make new companions.
Over time, Lavender took on the role of a devoted dog fosterer, offering affection and reassurance to every canine that came into Haley’s home.
Even more interesting is that almost every foster dog was drawn to Lavender’s vibrant spirit. It was as though she was a dog in a past life.
Whatever the case was, it’s truly heartwarming when cats and dogs get along, showcasing they’re not real-life enemies after all.
Once a rescued orphaned kitten, Lavender now helps and fosters dogs, proving that friendship and love come in all shapes and sizes.
