Florida Rescuers Freeze In Shock As X-Ray Reveals Something Hidden Beneath Dog’s Skin

Teddy’s journey began in hardship, but seeing him now makes it clear how much he has overcome to reach a brighter part of his life.
This gentle giant was found roaming through central Florida, carrying a burden no animal should ever experience.
Though he now greets the world with a joyful smile, his body once held nearly 100 BB pellets beneath the skin.
It’s difficult to imagine the pain he went through, but thankfully, his story took a far better turn.

When animal services first took Teddy in, it was clear this was no ordinary rescue.
He wasn’t healthy enough to be adopted right away, and there were concerns he might simply be left outside, as an outdoor dog. That was the very last thing Teddy needed.
What he needed most was time to heal, attention, and someone willing to fight for him.
That person turned out to be Rebecca Lynch of Poodle and Pooch Rescue in Orlando. The moment Rebecca heard about Teddy, she went straight to him.

Helping Teddy into the car was a challenge; at 72 pounds, he was a big guy.
But despite everything he had been through, Teddy stayed calm and sweet. Rebecca shared in an interview:
“From the minute I picked him up he just kissed my face all over… He’s a big Teddy bear, his name really suits him.”
At the vet, Teddy won over everyone. Even while limping and moving slowly, the warmth in his eyes never faded.

The team suspected arthritis and ran X-rays, only to uncover something devastating.
Nearly 100 BB pellets were embedded under his skin, mostly in his legs and head. Luckily, none had damaged his eyes, a small mercy in a painful story.
No one knows exactly who hurt Teddy. It could have been cruel kids or a heartless adult. Whatever the reason, it was clear he had been subjected to repeated harm.

Yet, the kindness in his heart never faded. Rebecca shared:
“Despite his condition and someone who was very unkind to him once upon a time, he is just the most trusting and loving, sweet soul.”
Sadly, Teddy’s case isn’t unique. Shelters frequently see animals injured by pellets, whether from BB guns or birdshot.
In many situations, painful or problematic pellets are removed, but in Teddy’s case, the injuries had already healed. He had adapted and learned to live with it.

Soon, Teddy settled into a loving foster home. There, he enjoyed cuddles with two little human siblings, naps with furry friends, and parents who treated him like royalty.
While it’s not known where Teddy is today, I like to imagine him in a forever home where he finally feels safe, loved, and at peace.
His gentle spirit has touched countless hearts, and after all he’s survived, Teddy deserves nothing less than that happy ending.
