Rescuers Save 11 Cats From Kennywood Park Then Discover Who Caused Such A Chaos

Pennsylvania’s well-known Kennywood Park recently turned into the stage for an incredible cat rescue effort.

Over the course of just two weeks, two separate cat families were saved, and the mystery behind the commotion was finally uncovered.

It all started on a Saturday when a family spotted a tiny kitten crying near the park’s exit ramp. They quickly brought her to Rescue and Relax, the local shelter.

The staff knew that finding one kitten usually meant others were close by, so they leapt into action.

Their rescue team reached out to experienced trapper Randi Krohmaly, who wasted no time heading straight to the park.

Even though it was late, the compassionate security staff at Kennywood gave Randi permission to stay as long as she needed to complete the rescue.

With the support of a volunteer, she combed through the park tirelessly until, at last, she discovered four kittens along with their mother.

She brought them to the shelter, where a heartwarming reunion thrilled everyone. Overflowed with relief, the shelter staff shared the news on their Facebook page:

“Many small rescues, including us, will work tirelessly to try to find the others so kittens can grow up with their mom and siblings… We couldn’t have dreamed they’d all be reunited so quickly and we’re thrilled!”

The Kennywood kittens quickly won over the hearts of animal lovers, with countless people following their story and waiting excitedly for updates on their progress and the search for their forever homes.

But just a week later, the shelter posted a new update – and it wasn’t the sweet ending everyone expected. Instead, the post came with a surprising headline: “KENNYWOOD KITTENS ROUND 2.”

Could there be kittens?

It turned out that another kitten had been seen at Kennywood, this time tucked under a ride in Kiddieland.

The ride was shut down for safety, and Randi, always ready to help, rushed back to the park.

She arrived right as the park was closing because of tornado warnings, but once again, the supportive security team let her stay. Thanks to that, Randi managed to rescue yet another little family of four!

Mama cat and three kittens were brought to the shelter, but sadly, one little furball remained in the park, as the shelter explained in the post:

“She caught a mama cat and 2 kittens within an hour. The third kitten went into the trap shortly after, but a fourth kitten proved stubborn. Security allowed her to remain as late as they possibly could, but she eventually had to leave without the last baby.”

But Randi’s work wasn’t finished yet. The next day, she went back to the park, determined to find the one kitten still missing.

With patience and persistence, she finally managed to catch the little one, bringing the total number of cats rescued from Kennywood to eleven.

Thanks to Randi, the Rescue and Relax team, the Kennywood security staff, and the generous community who pitched in with donations, all of the Kennywood cats were finally safe.

Each one was placed in a loving foster home, ready to begin a brighter future.

In an unexpected twist, the shelter later uncovered the real cause of all the kitten commotion – a crafty tomcat known to wander around the Kennywood grounds.

The plan now is to trap him and have him neutered, making sure no more surprise litters appear. With that step, the Kennywood kitten saga is set to close with a truly happy ending for all.
