I’ve heard many stories about the ‘cat distribution system’. Our feline friends choose us most of the time, and honestly, that’s what makes this world a better place.
In today’s story, the cat distribution system struck again, but this time around a stray cat found a unique way to get himself adopted.
A woman named Julia noticed a bunch of stray cats living on the streets of her neighborhood. However, one cat in particular seemed to be in love with Julia.
Every time she went outside, this adorable white and orange fellow would come running towards her. As Julia said in her video:
“I’d run into him around the neighborhood several times, and he immediately flops over for belly scratches.”
She named him Liam and the two started spending time together whenever Julia was in her front yard. Whether she was doing yoga or exercising with dumbbells, Liam was there to keep her company.
However, after all the effort Liam put in to win over Julia, she was still not adopting him! Over the next few days, Liam figured out a way to get himself adopted.
He would jump up on her living room window and just hang on the screen all day long! He would even come in the evening and just hang on Julia’s window until she noticed him.
Julia wasn’t quite sure if he was a stray or if he maybe belonged to someone else. He had such a sweet personality and was a real cuddle bug, so she assumed he probably had a loving home.
She asked around the neighborhood, but everyone confirmed he was a stray. Julia decided to officially adopt Liam and it was the best decision she ever made!
As soon as they got back from the vet with a clean bill of health, Liam turned on his purr machine and started cuddling with Julia instantly. As she mentioned:
“As soon as he got back from the vet, and was on the bed, it was constant cuddles. The goofy face, sleeping with his mouth open. It just makes you realize he’s meant to be here. He’s meant to be my cat.”
However, Liam had a hidden talent that proved to be extremely useful. Julia fosters kittens from her local shelter and shortly after adopting Liam, the shelter informed her about three kittens in need of a foster home.
Without a second thought, Julia went to pick these poor babies up. However, once they got home, the kittens were terrified of every sound and movement around them.
Julia did her best to comfort them, but the tiny souls would constantly hide under the bed. Seeing his mom struggle, Liam decided to step in. He took the role of a foster dad and started comforting the kittens!
The tiny fluffballs loved Liam! They would snuggle up next to him and peacefully nap, while Liam hugged them with his paws. Soon enough, the kittens came out of their shells and became feisty little fuzzballs! As Julia said:
“I did not expect this stray cat, who would hang on our screen, to be just the perfect little foster dad.”
Eventually, the kittens went to their forever homes, and Liam and Julia went back to their old routine. Cuddling all day and napping together! Julia also said:
“He’s definitely brought so much love, and just like sillines into my life. I am so grateful for him.”
