Black Cat Shows Up At Liquor Store In Oklahoma And Gets Hired

Many people might laugh about the idea of living in a liquor store, but for one lucky cat, that joke became her reality. 

Meet Betty, a glossy black rescue cat who went from roaming the streets to calling Oklahoma City’s Liquor Barn her home. 

Now, she’s more than just a resident – she’s the store’s most adored “employee,” winning over every customer and coworker she meets.

Her journey started in the simplest way. Betty used to show up on Amanda’s doorstep, sneaking in every chance she got.

Amanda, who now proudly calls herself Betty’s mom, shared in a YouTube video:

“Every time I opened my door, she was running in. So I told one of the owners about Betty, and he let me bring her up here. And the rest is history.”

And what a history it is.

Now Betty spends her days in that liquor shop, weaving between aisles stacked high with bottles of wine, beer, and spirits, never once knocking a single one over.

It’s like she was made for this job.

Customers adore her, employees spoil her, and the whole store has embraced her as family.

But don’t think Betty’s just there to look cute. She takes her job seriously, or at least her version of it.

One coworker calls her the “morale booster,” while another swears she’s always ready to help “check out customers and bag items.”

And of course, every great worker has their specialty. Betty’s? Cardboard box taste testing.

Give her a box of seltzers or tequila, and she’ll gladly sink her teeth into it as if she’s the official quality control inspector.

Despite balancing on shelves and lounging around bottles all day, Betty has never once caused an accident.

She steps with confidence and grace, making her the ultimate “purrfessional.” And when closing time comes, she has the whole store to herself.

That’s right, Betty lives there 24/7. She’s got her bed, food and water bowls, and even her litter box.
