Two Heartbroken Dogs Found Tied Outside A New Jersey Shelter With A Gut-Wrenching Note
Shadow and Tiger had no idea their lives were about to change forever. One moment, they were walking beside their owner, and the next, they were tied to a fence outside a shelter, watching as their human disappeared into the distance.
They waited, but no one came back for them.
In the morning, the first workers to arrive at Bloomfield Animal Shelter in New Jersey spotted two dogs sitting silently at the shelter’s gate.
They looked so sad and confused, yet still hopeful like they still believed this was all a mistake, that any second now, their owner would return and take them home.
As the rescuers approached, they saw a note tucked beside them. Written with obvious love and heartbreak, the note explained everything:
“Hi. I am sorry, but my babies deserve to live their golden years happy and in a good, warm home for the winter. I can’t take care of them while living on the street. Our home was foreclosed on, putting us out in the street.”
With winter approaching, their owner had no choice but to leave them somewhere safe. They had been together since birth and deserved to stay that way. The note also said the dogs were good with other animals and loved being around people.
The shelter staff felt so sad. They wished they could take the dogs in, but space was already stretched to its limit.
Desperate to help, they turned to social media, hoping someone would step in before it was too late.
Thankfully, the message reached Scooby-Doo’s Rescue Mission in Lincoln Park, where Christine Biggiani Bakelaar saw Shadow and Tiger’s photos. Their sorrowful eyes pulled at her heartstrings, and she knew she had to act fast.
She drove straight to the shelter, determined to give these boys a second chance. When she arrived, something magical happened.
The moment Shadow and Tiger saw Christine, their faces changed. Their tails wagged, and their eyes softened like they knew they weren’t alone anymore.
As Christine read the note, she realized she shared the exact same birthday as Shadow and Tiger. It felt like fate had brought them together.
Christine found them a peaceful foster home on a beautiful farm, where they could rest, heal, and feel safe again.
At first, they were cautious, still bothered by their past. But little by little, their foster family broke through their walls. Every soft touch, every kind word, every warm meal reassured them that they were home, for now.
