Two Dogs Left Tied Outside New Jersey Shelter With A Heartbreaking Note
Shadow and Tiger had no clue their world was about to turn upside down.
One minute, they were happily walking alongside their owner, and the next, they were tied to a fence outside a shelter, watching as the person they trusted walked away.
They waited patiently, but no one ever returned for them.
The next morning, the first workers to arrive at Bloomfield Animal Shelter in New Jersey noticed two dogs sitting quietly by the shelter gate.
They looked heartbroken and confused, but there was still a glimmer of hope in their eyes as if they believed this had to be some kind of mistake and that their owner would come back any moment to take them home.
When the rescuers got closer, they noticed a note left right beside the dogs. Written with clear love and sadness, it explained the heartbreaking situation:
“Hi. I am sorry, but my babies deserve to live their golden years happy and in a good, warm home for the winter. I can’t take care of them while living on the street. Our home was foreclosed on, putting us out in the street.”
With winter coming, their owner felt they had no choice but to leave the dogs somewhere safe.
The two had been together since birth and deserved to stay that way. The note also mentioned they were great with other animals and loved being around people.
The shelter staff were heartbroken. They wished they could take them in, but the shelter was already packed to capacity.
Desperate to help, they turned to social media, hoping someone would come forward before it was too late.
Thankfully, the post made its way to Scooby-Doo’s Rescue Mission in Lincoln Park, where Christine Biggiani Bakelaar saw Shadow and Tiger’s photos. Their sad, pleading eyes tugged at her heart, and she knew she had to move quickly.
She drove straight to the shelter, determined to give the two boys a second chance. And when she arrived, something truly special happened.
The moment Shadow and Tiger saw Christine, their expressions changed. Their tails started wagging, and their eyes softened, like they finally realized they weren’t alone anymore.
As Christine read the note, she discovered she shared the exact same birthday as Shadow and Tiger. It felt like fate had brought them together.
She arranged for them to stay in a calm foster home on a beautiful farm, a place where they could relax, heal, and feel safe again.
