Virginia Rescuer Horrified After A Woman Dumps Kitten In The Pet Store Without Saying A Word
Sometimes the tiniest creatures leave the biggest impressions, and that couldn’t be truer for a lively little tabby named Seymour.
Bursting with energy and an endless love for play, he quickly became unforgettable. Yet, just as remarkable as his personality is the story of how he was saved.
It all started in Northern Virginia, where an animal rescuer named Brittany was volunteering at one of her regular weekly adoption events.

Amid the bustle of cats and kittens waiting to meet their future families, Brittany never imagined she’d be called away so abruptly.
But then came an urgent message – a kitten was on the loose in the middle of a crowded pet store, and her help was needed immediately.
The situation was puzzling. How had such a small tabby ended up roaming freely through the store?

The mystery was quickly solved after checking the security cameras. The footage showed a woman entering with a bag, and tucked inside was the kitten.
Without speaking to anyone, she simply placed the kitten on the floor, turned around, and walked out. Brittany later shared her feelings about the situation:
“I wish the lady would have talked to us or even just left the bag on our table if she didn’t want to talk. We are so full and stressed, but I’ve made room, and he will get the best care I can give him.”

Brittany wasted no time taking the kitten under her wing, giving him the name Seymour as a nod to the unusual way he had entered her life.
He seemed healthy, but to ensure his safety and that of the other rescue cats, he was placed in quarantine.
It didn’t take long for Seymour’s spirited nature to show. Even on his own, he was full of energy, playful, and eager for fun.
The only challenge was that, with no other kittens around, he decided Brittany’s hands made the perfect stand-in playmates.

As soon as Seymour caught sight of her hand, he would puff himself up, arch his back, and let out a playful hiss before launching into a pounce.
His mock battles were full of enthusiasm, and every now and then his roughhousing edged into “ouch” territory – but it was always obvious that it was all in good fun.
Brittany used Seymour as an example of why kittens benefit from having other kittens to grow up with:
“The kitten dumped at Petsmart is a prime example of why kittens need other kittens to play with. He’s very sweet, but he wants to play with me like I’m a kitten.”

But Seymour wasn’t just feisty. He had a soft, loving side too. Between his bursts of energy, he’d happily curl up in Brittany’s lap for a cuddle. As Brittany put it:
“He makes me laugh every day and is the sweetest, feisty little guy. When he’s not acting (crazy) he’s cuddling in my lap.”
Since Seymour’s playful spirit seemed endless, Brittany decided to give him a toy fish to channel his energy. The moment he got it, he was hooked – it quickly became his favourite way to keep busy.

Day or night, he’d bat it, bite it, and carry it proudly around his space. Still, there were rare moments when he chose rest over mischief. Brittany fondly recalled one such occasion:
“Today is a cool rainy day in bed, These are the pictures of Seymour looking calm, but he spent most of the time attacking everything and playing. He is a fluffy ball of pure energy.”
With Brittany’s care, Seymour blossomed. His confidence grew stronger each day, his playful spirit never dimmed, and his affectionate side began to shine even brighter.
It wasn’t long before his story reached Heather, a woman who instantly fell for the spirited tabby. She knew he would bring happiness into her home and was determined to give him the forever family he had been waiting for.
Today, Seymour’s life is filled with love, adventure, and endless games of chase and pounce, all on his own terms.
What started as an unusual rescue in the middle of a pet store has turned into a beautiful ending for a kitten who was once abandoned but is now treasured beyond measure.
