New York Woman Follows Faint Cries Only To Discover A Tiny Soul With A Colorful Fur

Farm cats are often some of the happiest felines you’ll meet. With open fields to explore and plenty of animal companions around, these lucky cats get to live a life full of freedom and simple joys.
Of course, not all cats are cut out for farm life. Some are destined to be pampered house cats, surrounded by toys, soft beds, and endless affection.
With that in mind, let’s dive into the story of one barn kitty who longed for a home of his own.

One summer, Emily from New York made her way to her aunt’s family farm, hoping for a change of pace.
After a long and exhausting college semester, she was ready for some peace and quiet to recharge.

Her aunt’s farm cat recently had kittens, so once she arrived, Emily instantly went to the barn to visit the fluffy newcomers. As she shared in a video:
“When I went into the shed, I saw that there were four of them, but then I spotted this puffball of a kitten in the very corner with a ton of different colors all over her fur.”
Charmed by the kitten’s sweetness, Emily gently picked her up and took a few photos before placing her back with the rest of the litter.

Emily returned home with no plans of adopting a kitten, yet she couldn’t get the fluffy calico out of her mind.
As she scrolled through the photos she had taken that day, she realized she had already fallen in love. That’s when she knew she had to go back to her aunt’s farm and bring the little sweetheart home.

As it turned out, it was the best decision she ever made, as Emily mentioned:
“It’s a good thing that I did because her mom had actually decided to abandon her over the past few weeks.”
Once Emily went to the barn to pick the kitten up, she couldn’t find her! She frantically searched for her only to discover her crying in the tall grass behind the barn.

Left behind by her mother, the tiny kitten was frightened and all alone, hoping someone would come to her rescue.
Emily named her Meena and lovingly scooped her up, determined to give her a safe home.
At just eight weeks old, Meena weighed only a single pound, a clear sign of how undernourished she had been without her mother’s care.

Emily was now on a mission to turn her into a chubby and healthy little girl, as she also shared:
“The next few weeks we got rid of all her ear mites, and we fed her three to four times a day to make sure that she gained the weight that she needed to.”
Just as I mentioned earlier, Meena was never meant for life on a farm. She was destined to be a pampered indoor kitty, surrounded by warmth and endless affection from her humans.

Sweet Meena managed to win over everyone, even Emily’s boyfriend who never considered himself a cat person. As Emily said:
“One of my favorite things to have watched over this time is my boyfriend, who vowed that he would never like cats, is now wrapped around her paw. He tends to remind her probably about five times a day, how cute she is.”

I can’t help but relate to this – Meena truly is one of the most adorable cats I’ve ever come across!
It’s heartwarming to know that Emily chose to give her a forever home and the loving life she was always meant to have.
