Delivery Driver Watches In Shock As Tiny Cat Is Thrown From Moving Car In Iowa
Delivery drivers do more than just deliver packages—they can unexpectedly become real-life heroes.
One black cat in Iowa discovered this the hard way, when her life was completely upended and then saved thanks to the quick, caring actions of a delivery driver.
The shocking incident happened at the corner of 46th Street and Franklin Avenue in Des Moines.
A cruel person callously threw the black cat from a moving car, leaving her frightened and stranded in the middle of traffic. It’s almost impossible to imagine someone doing such a thing without even glancing back.
Luckily, a delivery driver happened to be right behind that car. Without hesitation, he pulled over to help.
The frightened cat, perhaps realizing she had found safety, ran straight toward him. At that moment, she found her guardian angel.
Knowing she needed help and a safe place to stay, the delivery driver immediately brought her to Iowa Pet Foods and Seascapes, a local pet store in West Des Moines.
The store is run by the compassionate Lori Sandahl, who welcomed the little cat with open arms. Lori later admitted she couldn’t comprehend how anyone could treat an animal so cruelly. Lori shared:
“She’s just full of life, purring from the moment she came in the front door! She knows she’s in a safe place.”
The black cat’s luck didn’t stop there. A thorough veterinary checkup revealed she had no injuries from her terrifying ordeal.
In fact, she was declared perfectly healthy. Not only that, but she turned out to be well-behaved, house-trained, affectionate, and full of love to give.
Despite the cruelty she endured, this little cat still trusted people. She purred nonstop, cuddled happily, and enjoyed every bit of affection she received. Lori explained:
“She has been handled a lot, obviously. The way she is loving on me, rubbing on me. There is no aggression or anything. She’s in good shape.”
With her sweet personality, Lori believes it won’t be long before the kitty finds her forever family. She’s playful, cuddly, and has a healthy appetite – everything you’d want in a feline companion.
Even KCCI correspondent Andrew Mollenback couldn’t help but admire her during the interview, describing her as a “cuddler who knows how to work the camera.”
True to form, she even gave the camera a perfect pose while nuzzling Lori.
This cat’s story is a reminder that heroes come in many forms. Sometimes, they’re not wearing capes or uniforms, but simply delivering packages when fate steps in.
Thanks to one anonymous delivery driver’s compassion, this black cat not only survived but also got the chance to live the life she deserves – safe, loved, and cherished.
