California UPS Driver Had Hilarious Encounter With 3 St. Bernards And It Instantly Went Viral
For one UPS driver in California, what started as a simple delivery quickly became a comedy sketch starring three massive Saint Bernards with very clear priorities: snacks first, everything else second.
The entire exchange was caught on camera, and instead of the usual barking frenzy people expect from delivery stops, viewers were treated to a gentle, and very funny, negotiation between man and dog.
Let’s be honest, delivery drivers and dogs don’t exactly have the most peaceful reputation. Many pups treat the sound of a truck like a full-blown security alert. In fact, the United States Postal Service reported over 6,000 dog-related incidents in 2024 alone.
But on California’s central coast, this particular stop proved that sometimes, all it takes to turn a “standoff” into a friendship is a pocket full of treats and three very determined, very fluffy negotiators.
The UPS driver was making his usual stop at a citrus farm when he met three rescue Saint Bernards who clearly knew the sound of his truck.
Instead of snarls or growls, he was met with wagging tails and determined stares. They weren’t defending their turf, they were on a mission to claim their treats.
In a TikTok video shared by @thestardustgrove, one of the massive dogs boldly climbs into the UPS truck as if it were her own personal lounge.
The other two block the driver’s exit, creating what can only be described as the friendliest “hostage” situation ever.
The video shows the driver laughing and giving the dog a few affectionate pets, but the mission was clear: no treats, no departure.
The standoff ended only when the driver reached into the milkbone box. As soon as the dogs spotted the treats, they happily followed him out of the truck, tails wagging in triumph.
He handed out the biscuits quickly before dashing back to the safety of his vehicle, just in case they wanted seconds.
The dog owner, who filmed the entire encounter, can be heard in the background trying, and failing, to convince the dogs to listen.
But it’s clear this has become part of their routine. “We rescue Saint Bernards, and they all love the UPS van and hear it coming up the hill,” the owner told Newsweek via TikTok. “Not so much the FedEx guy.”
Even UPS got in on the fun, confirming that the bond between drivers and their furry fans runs deep. “Our drivers often build strong relationships with customers, even four-legged ones,” the company told Newsweek in an email.
The wholesome clip has racked up more than 450,000 views, over 64,000 likes, and hundreds of comments on TikTok. Viewers can’t get enough of the dogs’ perfectly executed plan and the driver’s good-natured response.
“The dog bones in the truck… too cute! All the dogs on his route must love him!” one user wrote.
Another added, “Holding the UPS guy hostage until he gives the treats. Lol – wants to make sure he remembers.”
One viewer even joked that justice wasn’t fully served, commenting, “Wait, the one didn’t get one. He needs to come back and make it right.”
