You’d Never Expect A Kitten To Drop From The Sky, But That’s Exactly What Happened In Atlanta
Your chances of seeing a kitten fall right from the sky are low… but never zero.
That’s exactly what happened to Kendera while jogging down a street in Atlanta. A tiny blur tumbled from above, immediately followed by a soft, desperate meow that made her heart skip a beat.
Being a lifelong cat lover, she knew that cry meant trouble. Her eyes darted around until she spotted a shivering little fluff hiding in the leaves, completely lost and terrified.
Instinct kicked in. Kendera rushed over, already thinking about how to wrap this tiny sky-diver in warmth and safety.
The ‘thing’ that had fallen from the sky was a tiny newborn kitten, gray and delicate, no larger than a golf ball.
Kendera recalled the moment vividly:
“Then I saw this little gray thing on the floor, no bigger than a golf ball. I thought it’s got to have been a bird of prey and there’s no way I’m going to be able to find out where he came from.”
The kitten lay motionless, eyes still closed. Fear gripped Kendera, worried that the worst had already happened.
But she couldn’t leave the helpless newborn alone.
Gently, she scooped him up and tucked him carefully into her sports bra, rushing off to find help and make sure he would be safe.
She rushed the tiny kitten to the closest veterinary clinic, confident that the team there would give him the care he desperately needed.
The veterinarians quickly took him in and conducted a thorough examination. To everyone’s relief, the little kitten had survived the fall with only minor bruising.
Newborn kittens are incredibly delicate, making his survival nothing short of miraculous. Kendera remarked:
“It’s amazing how he escaped with no broken bones but when they’re little they’re very pliable. It was his lucky day!”
After receiving the necessary medical care, the kitten was placed with four other week-old kittens who had also been rescued from the streets.
The team at the veterinary clinic wanted a name that felt meaningful, so they chose Sky. One of the clinic’s receptionists explained:
“We called him Sky because that’s where he came from.”
Today, Sky is thriving alongside his family in his loving forever home.
The kitten has quickly adjusted to his new life and now enjoys playing, cuddling, and exploring the world as he grows stronger each day.
