Eventually, she came across Reddington’s profile and immediately started emailing with his foster family.
Before long, she and her boyfriend—who is now her husband—packed up and drove all the way to Oklahoma to meet him in person.
A Heartbreaking First Meeting
The first time they saw Reddington, he was curled up inside a little crate, desperately trying to hide from the world.
He was painfully shy back then, carrying the heavy emotional weight of a previous owner who had simply left him behind.
It was obvious he hadn’t been cared for properly; he was underweight, his fur felt rough and unhealthy, and he was suffering from an ear infection.

At the time of his adoption, Reddington was already on medication, recovering and trying to gain his weight back.

He will reach out with his big paw, grab onto her shirt, and pull at her until she finally gives him the scratches he deserves.

Last year, the family decided to expand and adopted another rescue cat, bringing home a baby sister for Reddington.

When Reddington was adopted, he was already in the later part of his life, estimated to be about five or six years old.
Today, he is around 12 years old and is generally very healthy, even though he’s developed some minor ligament issues in his little legs over time.
Every time he visits the vet, they reassure his family that he is doing incredibly well for his age.
He still runs around the house, plays, and enjoys a beautiful quality of life that makes his family grateful every single day.
