An Empty Heart Ready To Love Again
Losing a beloved pet leaves a quiet void in a home that is hard to fill. For Jessica, the recent loss of her black cat meant her house felt a little too still.

When Jessica brought him home, he didn’t hide under the furniture or shy away from her touch.

Baba is also a very vocal little guy, earning him the nickname of a "little soprano."
He has a very specific vocabulary that he listens for, ignoring words like "car," "avocado," "fish," and "tuna."
But there is one magic word that always gets his attention.
The moment Jessica asks if he wants a "snack," Baba is immediately alert and ready for a treat.
A Bond Between Rescued Siblings
Baba didn’t come into Jessica’s life alone.
He was rescued alongside his littermate, a sweet cat named Yaga, who also joined the family.
The two siblings share an incredibly tight bond and love to play together around the house.
Even when Jessica tries to feed them from separate bowls, they insist on eating out of just one bowl together.
A Little Magnet Around The House
Since finding his forever home, Baba has become deeply attached to his new mom.
Jessica describes him as her "little magnet" because he refuses to leave her side.
If she walks into one room, he follows her right in; if she moves to another, he is right behind her.
Sometimes, he even takes the lead, meowing at her to follow him to his favorite cat tree.
A Comforting And Protective Presence
Their connection goes far beyond just following each other around.
Baba is incredibly in tune with Jessica’s emotions and physical well-being.
If she isn’t feeling well, he makes sure to stick right by her side to offer comfort.
He even gets visibly concerned if she starts to cough, checking on her to make sure she is okay.

Because Jessica works from home, she gets to spend all day with her little shadows.
She takes advantage of Baba’s nap times to get her work done, joking that it is "honestly like having a baby."
She has always loved black cats and hopes more people will look past the silly superstitions that keep them in shelters longer.
For Jessica, Baba and Yaga have brought endless joy to her home, and she says she honestly couldn’t picture life without them.
