A woman found solace after her father’s passing through her beloved cat, Benji. She believed that somehow, her father’s spirit had returned to her, wrapped in his furry body.
But her husband, struggling to understand their bond, did something that shocked everyone, sparking a wave of support from countless people online.
Imagine coming home from a trip, only to discover your partner has sent your cat to an animal shelter without your knowledge. It’s a betrayal that many would consider unforgivable.
The woman’s distress became a hot topic on Reddit, where she sought advice about her husband’s shocking actions. He viewed her relationship with Benji as “strange and unhealthy,” so he took drastic measures while she was away.
This left the woman heartbroken, as her connection with Benji was special. It was definitely more than just that of owner and cat; it was a lifeline.
She adopted him right after her father’s death, as she felt an emptiness she couldn’t shake off. Benji filled that void.
The woman believed Benji was the reincarnation of her father. For her, this kitty carried a piece of her father’s soul. This thought brought her immense comfort in her grief, as she expressed on Reddit:
“This may sound crazy to some, but I really believe Benji is the reincarnation of my Dad. When I look into his eyes, I feel something more than a cat. Like a cat born with a human soul. All the timing adds up, it all makes sense to me at least.”
