Four-Day-Old Kitten Found All Alone Needing Urgent Help

Sharing is caring!

While most newborn kittens spend their first days in the world snuggled next to their mothers, this tiny black kitten wasn’t as lucky.

She was discovered at just four days old, all by herself, needing immediate help. However, her tiny meows and courageous spirit brought her to where she is now.

The little black kitten, later named Bertrille but often named Bertie, faced a rough start in life. But fortune smiled upon her when she was found by Ellen Carozza, president of the Chris Griffey Memorial Feline Foundation in Arlington.

Without hesitation, Ellen took Bertie under the foundation’s care, setting her on the path to meet someone very special – her foster mom Kimberly. First, though, she had to spend some time in an incubator.

Bertie proved she was a fighter, never giving up for a moment. Every time Kimberly opened the incubator door, Bertie would stand up and meow, as if letting her know she was ready to get stronger.

And that’s exactly what happened. With Kimberly’s dedicated care, Bertie transformed a lot. She grew bigger and stronger with each passing day. But, most importantly, the two of them formed an unbreakable bond during this journey.

As she continued to grow, Bertie’s adventurous spirit blossomed. She started exploring her surroundings and would even escape from her incubator, seeking cuddles and attention.

Kimberly was delighted to see her progress and encouraged her curiosity, often taking her on backpack picnics, which Bertie loved.

Over time, Bertie transformed not only in health but also in appearance, with her black fur developing into a beautiful smoky color that made her even more adorable.

Once she had mastered all her kitten skills, including litter training, Bertie was finally ready for the next step – finding a loving home.

Kimberly had a hard time saying goodbye to her beloved Bertie, but it was all for her brighter future.

Fortunately, it didn’t take long for her to find a forever home. Now, she’s thriving in her new home, surrounded by love and proving that everyone deserves a second chance.
